Welcome to Gaia! ::

I have an ibook G4, my dog is a spaz and ran over the cord while it was plugged into the wall and ripped out the prong cube thing. I have no idea what it's actually called, but the thing that he broke off is the small cube in the upper corner that plugs into the outlet.

In my stupidity of trying to fix it, I did this.

I took apart the cube in three pieces, so is the prongs, this little plastic T thing that goes over the prongs and then the cover. I can put it back together, but when I plug it into the wall, it lights up for like 4 seconds then dies.

You can buy a new small cube-thingy for like, $7, but I'd personally take it to the Technical table (or whatever it's called) and see if they have a warranty for it.

There isn't a Mac store for about 50 miles where I live, if not further, and I don't have a warranty because it was my former step-dad's family laptop and they don't talk to me anymore >.<

If I buy a new cube thing can I just replace it myself or will it be really hard?

It lighting up and then going back off could mean that you caused a short. I would look to buying an new one online. If you trying repairing it yourself, you could cause a LOT of unnecessary damage and i don't just meant to your computer.
... the cube actually comes out... you can just put it back... and if its broke the mac does come with a cable in the box (please dont be an a**. People on my campus use the cube and i hate them very much it takes up 2 outlets and they hog the whole outlet. I HATE THEM) please use the cable in public.

Edit: I can not see ANYTHING in the picture you have so I have no idea what the damage is. If i didnt know what the brick look like i wouldnt know what it was.
PS out of pure desperation and i wouldnt recommend this... The old PS2 cables can be slightly modded to be used as cables for your brick. I would NOT recommend this and I WOULD Never do this. Its just for your knowledge

It sounds like it's dead and it probably isn't a good idea to mess with it. You can buy another one somewhere - you don't have to go to an Apple store for something as old as a G4. I doubt you can even get one at an Apple store anymore. It might cost you quite a bit if you get one new, since Apple probably stopped production of them years ago, but you might be able to get a used one cheap.
