What he said isn't totally bullshit, actually. But, I agree that there's no reason to get fancy art supplies unless you're looking to someday go professional. Use GIMP, free trials, even Paint Chat/Oekaki Boards. I recommend this website for drawing online. (for free) It has a good program that can do a lot of things that GIMP does. :3
