hi,


so i turned my pc on the other day and it had a disk drive read error , so i booted it in safe mode with networking and run a hard disk bad sector/repair with windows and now it boots fine the trouble is certain programs have corrupt/installed themselves.... for example Internet explorer says it's installed, when i try to install it, yet it's not in my all program list or in the programs/features section of my control pannel, same with Google Chrome and microsoft office.


things I've tried-


- system restore

- loading a previous back of windows from C

- run a hard disk bad sector/repair with windows


things i may try


repairing windows with the install disk ( if that'll help )


things i'd like to avoid

- a clean OS install


my OS


- windows 7 32 bit



Any thoughts/ theories?
