I need help guys. ]:

I was working on some art and suddenly my computer froze up, I hit Ctrl+alt+delete but nothing happened so I hit restart. Nothing happened so I held down the power button until it turned off.

I tried turning it back on and the actual computer is buzzing but there's no lights to show that it's on, there is also nothing showing on the screen.

It's currently turned off completely with the power cord unplugged.

HALP PLZ. :C

Ok, now for us to help you, we need you to give us alot of details, and don't lie to us. We're nerds, we can sense fear. Rawr.

1: What were you doing in the last 10 mins of it being active?
2: what virus/spyware protection do you use?
3: DO YOU HAVE NORTON/ROXIO GOBACK ON IT.
4: Do you download files using limewire, utorrent, or any similar program?

1. I was working on art in Easy Paint Tool SAI, talking on MSN and had the internet open.
2. I just uninstalled AVG and installed Avira, I also have Spybot.
3. I don't think so.
4. Never.

Don't bump, this isn't the chatterbox.

Sounds like it is either a ram issue, or a power supply issue. either way, take it to someone (NOT THE GEEK SQUAD.)

Ooops, sorry.

Hmmm I was told by my uncle [he fixes computers] that it could be the power source/supply and that he'll bring over a new one later.

Do you think it might be a broken monitor?

Also why not the Geek Squad [just curious]

I forgot to add that I have a space heater in my room. I turned it off/on every few minutes and every time I'd turn it on [or off I can't remember] the computer's power sounded like it made a clicking noise.

You know.. when you use something and your house's power does that weird click thing?
Yeah it did that.

There are VERY FEW employees for GeekSquad who actually know how to replace or work with hardware, and as a late trend, they've been sending most of their hardware replacement work off to "central service".

That means you'll have to wait 2 to 4 weeks just to get the computer back, and I wouldn't be surprised if you find a few of your peripherals disconnected.

I quit GeekSquad once they started reprimanding agents for replacing hardware and removing malware manually, and now my stint with GeekSquad looks like a blemish on my resume.

I know the problem.
It's called.
Windows Vista.

Windows Vista.
I've got a radical idea.
Let's use some LOGIC!

If it was Vista, every computer with vista would have the issue.

They don't, so it's not vista.

Isn't logic simple? heart

Yeah I had that once, it was a faulty plugin (like through the wall and everything). I'd say your power supply got fried. Best advice I can give is make sure you replace it with a similar or better one.

idk srry

Insufficient power to your computer can't cause damage to components.
