Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hey guys, i have an issue once again. Heh. xD;

Okay, so i recently got a new phone and i bought seperate SD card for it so i can take pictures and videos. It's a Micro SD, and it's 1 gig.

I'm running an Acer Aspire E6300, and i have an internal Card reader that is located on the front of the computer...

Now, it worked before. I was using the card reader and transfering pictures and videos perfectly fine. When i put the SD card in, a little green light would come on and a window would pop up with all the information for me to transfer and whatnot.
So there was no problem...

But last night for some reason, i put my card in and the green light came on, but i got no window. So i restarted my computer, and the green light remained on even though the card was not in there. So i turned off my computer completely, and shut off all power going TO my computer so everything got reset, and the light went off.
Now when i try to put my card in, the computer not ONLY does not detect it, the green light doesn't come on at all.

I don't even get that "Safely remove hardware" Icon by my clock anymore, and i always had that down there because i use other USB ports for webcams, and my iPod. Those USB's work fine, it's just my Card Reader! =[

It worked before, but now i have no idea what's wrong.

My Phone can still read my card perfectly normal, and the card does not seem corrupted in any way.

Any help? Please? :[
Do you still have the corresponding removable drives for each card type listed in My Computer? Are there any "unknown" or "other" devices listed in your Device Manager? Do you have ANY other memory cards you could test with?

I use two USB ports for my iPod, and my camera. When my iPod is in my computer, it is detected by iTunes but not my computer... As in, i cannot see it in "My Computer" at all.
The only drives i see is my C/D drive, My DVD Drive, and down where it says "Scanners and Cameras" It detects my webcam.
I tried another SD card, it's not mine it's my mom's, and it isn't being detected by my computer at all either...

When i go into device manager, it doesn't seem to detect any of my 'removable' drives at all.
Alright right click on "my computer" and select "hardware" if any of the drivers have a small red "x" on i, it it may be that the driver which is software to run your hardware is missing, corrupted, broken or disabled. If "disabled" just "enable" it by right clicking on it and enabling. If there a yellow question mark you need to search for it. Usually it says what driver is missing but it may appear as unknown. In some cases using windows update and selecting custom update may detect hardware updates which is the driver updates. Try that. Other than that go to your computers manufacturer site and search for your computer model and look for driver downloads and download a card reader driver. Also your Bios may have an option to enable it or disable that hardware. Access your bios using the designated function key a computer start up.

Okay well i tried the hardware thing, and nothing has a yellow mark or a red mark. Everything seems to work fine, and nothing seems corrupted or 'dead' in any way, heh.
I tried going to my computers manufacturing site to look for a driver, but they don't even seem to have the driver that i even need...
I duno, it could be because i cant really find it. D:

Alright. Either give me the page tot he driver downloads for your computer or tell me the exact model number of your computer. Also is it a desktop or a laptop? I can't find an acer aspire E6300 in the drop down lists for acer. If it is a desktop then a wire may be loose for the card reader. If laptop then there's probably not much else I can tell you. I'd actually have to be there if I need to go into a laptop.

I have a Desktop, Aspire E700.
I was thinking that the wire may be lose... but i'm not sure, i mean, it was working before and then all of a sudden it decided to kind of 'freeze' one day (As in, the green light stayed on) And after i shut off my computers power the green light went off, and never turned back on again when i re-inserted my SD card. =/
Ok there is no Driver for it provided in the site itself. I might actually have to do a search voer various other sites for a driver for your internal reader.

I'm guessing it just broke. There are other USB drives that you can stick your SD card into and then stick that USB drive into your USB port. I'd suggest getting one of those.

Yeah, okay thanks. I was going to look into getting one of those.
