ok this is what my friends pc is saying :

Warning! 3 Infections found!
During the last malicious attack... (lost the message from another pop-up for a security shield program)
System Crash, Permanent Data Loss, System Start-up Failure, System Slowdown, Internet Disconnection.

can anyone help?

What program is saying that and was your friend browsing the internet at the time? Unless the message is from the installed antivirus, it's probably just a popup trying to scare you into downloading a malicious fake-antivirus.

First: DO NOT GIVE IT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.
Second, boot into safe mode with networking.
If you don't know how, turn the computer off and then turn it back on while tapping F8 like crazy, and then choose "safe mode with networking"

Third, run this: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/combofix

Fourth, run a full scan with this: http://www.superantispyware.com/sasportable.php

And fifth, I'd recomend getting better protection since whatever you have didn't work out too well.

ok the os hes using is windows XP professional and the program it is is "security shield"
