I've had this PC for about 6-7 months now and have not cleaned the inside of it even once.

What is the best way to remove dust from the PC without harming the components on the inside of it?

I've used a vacuum on my old PC through the vents, but that never really worked out.
compressed air?

or open it up

compressed air?

Never thought about the idea of compressed air. I'll take it into consideration

Wouldn't keeping the case open just cause more amounts of dust to be piled on compared to keeping it closed?

I never said to keep it open.

but opening it would make it easier to clean.

Compressed air, yeah. The cans are very cheap and do a very good job.
Just do it outside or a place where you can easily clean up all the mess after.

I would personally just use a vacuum with the soft brush attachment, rather than waste money those overpriced compressed air cans.

I tend to advise against using a vacuum. Most vacuum cleaners have hoses and attachments made of nylon or some other plastic that generates static electricity.

Static electricity is bad, no matter the source.

Canned air is safer. And a $7 can goes a long way.
