Can someone help me get songs from itunes as ringtones

I have run out of ideas and i need help makeing the like 8 songs i downloaded and 2 i had all ready downloaded all from itunes work as ringtones on my iphone

iphone4s most updated 7.0.6
I feel like i have tried every thing can someone give me a better idea maybe i missed something that i normally do not need to do seeing as up to this point i have only needed itunes for my ipod.

should i download something like realplayer and use it to convert the songs to some other format if so i have no clue what formats the ring tones are.

I found this video but i am a bit lost it has been a very long time from when i changed a format of any file.
