so i'm looking for a good art software that you can paint, draw, and maybe animate stuff on. something also that you can buy like at a store somewhere. i've heard a lot about photoshop, but is it any good? thanks 3nodding

Photoshop is great and pretty powerful image editor, but it costs alot of money up to 700 dollars. If you have to cash to buy it then go right ahead.

You can try a free open source alternative called GIMP which you can get at GIMP.org.

There is also paint.net which you can get at getpaint.net.

There is also MSpaint that comes with your computer.

There is also http://opensword.org/Pixen/ which is for mac. Great for pixel and raster artists.

I'm only familiar with free software I've heard and used.
