Sorry baout that, just debunking someone who was spreading misinformation. I"d recomend either, but avast works better on low end computers.

Avast had problems with my laptop that it wouldn't load up and such. I wasn't going to listen to him anyways.. I installed Kaspersky on this computer and it litterally locked up on me and said 'I'm not going to boot up' and refused to boot up so I had to system restore.. It was the actual kaspersky yes.. however it just didn't like my laptop.. Avast doesn't run on start up.. I have to open it for it to actually start.. works fine on my other computer but yeah right now I'm running MSE with this computer, like I had originally done
Sounds like you've got more issues than just lacking virus protection.

run this: http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/syswranalyzer.exe
It's a system analyzer by webroot. when it's done, copy and paste the output log to http://pastebin.com and then link us to the paste.

Hrm...seems like you already have security essentials, and it's up to date. And windows firewall is on too.

This computer is fine, no viruses, no maleware, I keep it clean daily... Just because Kaspersky made my computer go crazy doesn't nessarily mean theres something wrong with it...

Yeah, it looks fine from here.

Computer will be 2 soon, so I don't know, for some odd reason it reacted bad to Kaspersky, my other computer reacted fine to it.. so I'm not really sure...

This computer runs awsome with MSE, No viruses, No maleware
My other gets viruses with it/viruses get through easier, I'm not sure why.. but I ended up with so many viruses that got through

This computer won't run Avast on start up even when it says it is a start up program, I repair, I uninstall re install and it still will not work..
My other computer runs it fine, it boots up with it, it keeps it safe, ect.

This computer does not like Kaspersky, it will lock up on me and won't start up properly
My other computer likes Kaspersky and it runs fine, the only problem is it takes so long to update it.

Both computers are made by HP
this computer is a windows 7 the other is a windows vista :s so..

Dunno if its the windows difference but I've tried everything to get avast to work on this computer when it starts up, will NEVER start up with it.. MSE always starts up with it..so Idk :s both computers are weird I have

This one is a laptop my other is a desktop
