I need one, but the only cameras I can find that have manual focus are not point-and-shoot digital cameras.

Can anyone give suggestions/post links/whatever?

What are you trying to photograph? What's the need for manual focus on a point and shoot? Why not get a cheaper SLR and use one of those?

This image is not porn or warez, it was a drawing of a spider.
If you have to manually focus the camera, by definition, it is not point-and-shoot.

You're looking for features you would find in an SLR.

Oh okay, thanks. I was told that manual-focusing point-and-shoots exist, but after a ton of searching and what you just told me, maybe they don't....

machineman - I want to be able to customize what I focus on. I mainly do close-up nature shots and urban life (think cities). I guess an SLR would work too but I don't really know much about those, and I was told that point-and-shoots are just easier to handle (and of course they're cheaper; I have a limited budget).

They do exist, I have one.

That being said, I don't see the point of manual focus (it's a horrible interface for that too), though manual exposure settings are very useful.

That's the one I have, but it doesn't really have manual focus. I mean, technically yes, you can set it, but it really sucks and is terribly inaccurate.

Doesn't really?
The only way to get better manual focus is to have a real through the lens viewfinder with a mechanical focus ring. That's when it stops being a point and shoot...
Why do you want manual focus anyway? I've felt the need to use it maybe 5 times out of many hundreds of photos.

I'm not being aggressive here, I just don't get how you can say you can't find such a P&S camera when you already own one...

Ditto, only I have the 530

It actually works fairly well.

The Canon A720IS has (software based) manual focus. I find that it works well, although it's not as fast as physical manual zoom.
