Why do people hate on Superman?

I HONESTLY believe the true reason is that he's perceived as too clean, good, mainstream or cliche. Some justify their dislike for him because of his lack of weaknesses. But c'mon, wolverine is SUPER popular. The difference is one is EDGY and the other isn't.

I personally love Superman. But I love dcnu Superman more. He has a badassness to him. I don't find him to be boring at all, in fact I think he makes the harder decision not to kill villains and try to save them instead or at least put them away. Heck Batman rules with fear and he doesn't kill either. That's what I like about Supes and Bats.

But that's just my opinion on the subject. And I can understand why people dislike Superman for the golden boy image.

Exactly. And I find endearing and inspirational on a level unfound in most american comics.

not really he is like golden age superman he has way to much power which makes the comic boring

Because they read all the wrong Superman titles or they know him from the lame movies he has had. (Though yes some people just generally don't like the character period which is fine) I mean can you say you like all the major major super heroes? I don't think anyone can. We all have our likes and dislike for various reasons. I'm not digging Wolverine much and tbh I don't think I ever did. I do like the fact that Steve Blum is voicing him in the new anime series but even the awesome of Steve can't get me to like the character much. emo

i think the big difference between superman and wolverine is more then just attitude but their entire world themselves.

Superman is literally unstoppable unless the enemy gets a hold of Kryptonite which SOMEHOW even tho its the remains of a distant planet there is a vast abundance of it, or at least enough of it for every Superman villain to get his hands on it and hurt Superman.

Wolverine comes from a troubled past and as much as its very hard to actually kill him (there are a few techniques that would work) Wolverine can at least be knocked out / injured by conventional means (chemically induced sedation, blunt force trauma etc) he has a plethora of enemies that constantly provide new and unique attack methods to try and take him down and Wolverine doesnt have a ton of powers to make him virtually invincible, he has to rely on what he has and his intelligence to try and defeat his foes (being a close quarters combatant is harder when you dont have laser vision and what not)

Guess what? Rocks can be your weakness too. Especially if someone clubbed you in the head with one.
