I've seen pictures where he is purple, black and like a midnight blue. Me and some friends keep arguing on what colour he is, so does anyone know what his true colour is?

Which makes absolutely no sense. If something were realistically black, it'd have grey or while highlights. That's the reason why I have trouble saying he's black. If it were supposed to be looked at realistically and with common sense, he'd actually be really, really dark blue, but he's not and I've grown accept it.

the bluish tints are highlights and light source to give the character definition and depth. it helps to define muscle and round out certain areas rather than llok like a flat 2 dimensional character.

Technically the symbiote can take on the look and appearance of practically anything... So it's "color" is whatever... But it's original color is suppose to be black; with different artists choosing to shade it differently every now and again to be of bluish/purplish design...
