Ouch. That hurt. Personally I love the show; to me it's like a comedy version of the Ultimate Spider-man comics, and since those are the only Spidey comics I've read my only complain is the lack of Kong and Kitty Pride.
Sorry its just how I feel as a long time Spidey fan. emo I hate how he never gets a good animated series and then when he did get one that was pretty good it got canceled. Now we are right back to the dork age of Spider-man. I really wanted to like this series too.
I get it, I loved Spectacular too (Stupid copyright laws). But I still don't see what is it that you people seem to hate about Ultimate. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I watched the premiere after returning from one of the poorest parts of my country... (I have the theory that I love fun, lighthearted stuff because I'm convinced the Real World is going to hell)
Yes it does depend on taste and where you are in the world. Again not every superhero cartoon has to be angsty and dark like BTAS or Young Justice. Spider-Man is a fun character however it has to be balance. I have to agree with Nightcrawler here the cut-a-ways and explaining all the details kind of sucks the very fun out of the show. I'm sorry but Spider-man is like a 60 year old character. I think we all know who's who in his world. I'm just overly disappointed that two good writers are missing the mark here. I know both Dini, Bendis, and even Loeb can create some good projects so I'm just utterly baffle why this show sucks as much as it does. While I know it wasn't going to be like the comics this was just awful. If I had to scale it I say about OMD awful. I guess Spidey really did trade his soul to the devil. emo
