It got better.. BlackHawks awas the biggest Dissapointment to me. I kept trudging through JLI it took until the 4th issue for me to go..okay..this is decent lol

Really? I've been loving Blackhawks. Lincoln and the Lady are among my favorite new additions to the 52 and I've been really enjoying the story with Mother Machine. I'm actually disappointed that it's getting canceled. But then again, this new Blackhawks was sort of tailor-made me for. I'm a huge G.I. Joe fan and it's basically DC's version of G.I. Joe.

I just know that I really miss Zinda Blake (Lady Blackhawk from previous continuity). Gail Simone has said that Zinda probably didn't survive the reboot, though she hasn't heard one way or the other officially.

DC is making me feel very conflicted and hypocritical right now. I've always been someone who stood by the principal that any character can be good if they're paired up with a good writer. But lately I don't know...I just can't get behind Barry Allen as the Flash or Helena Wayne as Huntress. Its not so much the characters themselves, but the fact that DC got rid of two of my favorite characters, Helena Bertinelli and Wally West, in favor of older characters who held the same mantle. The thought that those two might be gone just depresses me. Every time I think about giving Flash's new ongoing or Huntress's mini a try I get really sad, even though I've heard really good things about both of them. And I've heard that Manapul would like to bring Wally into The Flash, but he'd have to get it okay'd by editorial and even then, who knows how big a role Wally would actually get. And since this Huntress is from Earth-2, there's still a chance that Bertinelli could exist, but until I see evidence of these things happening, I just don't think I can bring myself to read these two comics. (Not reading the Flash really pains me too, he's my favorite superhero, and I positively drool over Manapul's art)

I certainly know your pain. I've been conflicted about this whole 'New 52' since I first heard about it. I'll admit, there's a lot of good that's come out of this for me, like JL: Dark and Birds of Prey, but I also really hate a lot of it. This 52 is supposed to clean things up and make it less complicated, but honestly I'm more confused than ever before. What comics count? What doesn't? Who exists? I have no idea and it drives me crazy. Especially when it comes to really big, important characters like Wally West, Helena Bertinelli, or Donna Troy. And I definitely hate other characters who have been changed beyond belief, like Superboy or Rose Wilson.

So I very much know how you feel. Especially when it comes to Helena, because she's one of my favorite characters. I like the first Huntress, as well, but Bertinelli has been the character I've followed and enjoyed over the past years and I would be really upset if she didn't come back. Fortunately, I really think she will. As the Huntress in the Mini is from another Earth, it makes sense that this Earth would have one, too. That said, you should really consider giving the Mini a try. I think Bertinelli will come back and, most importantly, the comic can be read either way. It's not stated once in the entire run what her last name is and she looks and acts exactly the same, so you could easily just tell yourself it's Bertinelli. Heck, I didn't even know it wasn't Bertinelli until I read that interview yesterday. Well, I guess nobody did, really. Actually, wait, why haven't you been reading it? No one said it was the first Huntress until now.

As for Flash, I understand missing Wally. I've very unhappy with what's been done with him. Honestly, if he couldn't be Flash, I don't know why Wally wouldn't just go back to being Kid Flash. Even if they still wanted Bart Allen around, they could just make him Impulse again and then everyone would be happy. However, I've been a fan of Flash since I first started to read. He's my dad's favorite character, so I grew up with Barry Allen. I still thinks he's the best hero out there. So I'm actually really happy with this new comic. Honestly, I think it's one of the best of the New 52. It's art is just amazing. But I do feel for you and missing Wally. That's one of my biggest disappointments with the 52.

And yeah... I sort of got rambly here... Sorry. sweatdrop

Wait, what? Gail Simone said Zinda's not coming back? For certain? That's awful. Do you have a source for this? That doesn't seem right. She was pretty popular in Birds of Prey. Well, hold up. Maybe I see why she'd say that. Zinda was only in modern-day comics because of the time-warping effects of the Zerohour event. The 52 reversed the effects of Zerohour, so... Oh, that's not cool at all. Zinda would never have traveled through time, never worked with Guy Gardner or the Birds of Prey, and be an old lady or dead... Argh! I hate you New 52! You are ruining all of my comic-book memories.

On a happier side note, I love your sig, Jackie. I'm a fan of Power Girl and I can absolutely see her doing that. biggrin After all, that's the same person who paused a fight with Wonder Woman to order a 11 hotdogs. Yeah, she'd totally drive a car like that. Heh.

[Edit] Actually, I just thought of something. We've got the Multiverse back now. Which means Multiple Earths. So maybe Zinda and the original Blackhawks will show up in the new Earth-2 comic or even in their own Earth comic? After all, the Blackhawk Squadron is now considered to be on Earth-One (Pre-Zerohour Earth), so why couldn't we get a comic for that Earth? Happy thoughts.

The new Oracle will likely be Wendy Harris. She was a genius who is the daughter of the villian the Calculator and was nearly killed alongside her brother Marvin White by a demonic dog. She was left in a coma until Oracle: The Cure #3 when she awoke and discovered that she had lost the use of her legs. Oracle was helping Wendy get used to her life as a paraplegic. She was last seen using the name Proxy acting as an Oracle stand-in. With Oracle returning to traditional crimefighting Wendy will probably take over full-time.

Dude, that's actually brilliant. I never even thought of that, but now that you point it out it seems so obvious. I don't know how I missed that before. If they don't end up doing this, I'll actually be disappointed with DC. Don't know if you know writers or anything, but I kind of want to see a Oracle series with Wendy that's written by Gail Simone, who did Birds of Prey. That would be great.

That would be a great series. I have never read Birds of Prey except for their crossover with Gail SImone's other series, The Secret Six, which I love. On a related note:

Like I said, she hasn't heard anything official about Zinda, but a fan asked her about it on her tumblr and she said that it wasn't likely that Zinda would be around because of the changes. This was back towards the start of the reboot (like in the first couple of months) and her tumblr doesn't seem to have an archive so I'm too lazy to flip back through all the pages to find it, but you can give it a try if you want.

Oh, that's a good series, too. All in all, if Gail Simone does it, it's probably great. Oh, Catman. I forgot about him. Added to the M.I.A. list.

Awesome, thanks. I'll go look it up.

Really? That's awesome. Thanks for the update. I'll add it to the list right now. Wonder when she'll show up. I'll bet she appears in 'Demon Knights' at some point, since her father, Vandal, is in it. Or maybe show up in Suicide Squad. Not sure. But I'm excited. biggrin

Demon Knights wouldn't make any sense since it takes place in the past and Scandal is a more modern character. Unless they decide to completely change her. Which would piss a lot of people off.

Oh, right. I didn't think about that. Well, I really hope she doesn't show up in Demon Knights, now. But given how much DC has drastically changed other characters, like Rose Wilson and Superboy, I have a lot of worries about that now. I just have to hope they do her right. My bet will now go to her showing up in Suicide Squad, then. Or at least my hope, anyway. Or maybe she could be a good enemy to pop up in Batgirl or Birds of Prey. That might be nice.

I'd rather like Knockout to return, as well. I liked that dynamic and I'd like to see more of them together.
