Welcome to Gaia! ::

Recently I got into the whole comic book thing, lucky for me that's when DC decided to do the whole reboot thing.

I've been reading Justice League and I love it (it was a major plus when I found out that Jim Lee was drawing it.)

But anyways, I have read the first Wonder Woman, Batman (there's like a bajillion new Batmans), and Superman.

Just curious, what are your thoughts on the ones you have been reading and which ones would you strongly recommend?

Oh and, apparently Aquaman is doing really good.

(Forgive me if there is a thread already like this. I don't think there is one, but yeah.)

I love red hood and the Outlaws personally.. and I think that Suicide Squad is one of the best new books along with Batwing.

((However))

Beware that people will say omg They over sexualized Harley Quinn and blah blah. Samething with Redhood. But those are my three favorite titles.
I can only recommend Action Comics. Though I'll probably be dropping it soon for lack of wealth... emo

Red Hood, lot of haters out there, few on gaia though
Most people recommend it

Batwoman as well
SHEAR AWESOMENESS contained in book format

(And of course....it wouldn't be a post from me without mentioning this little lady)
Batgirl-Imo it's quite good, then again I am bias as f***
Most people on gaia don't be liking Bab's as batgirl....and think she was better as Oracle
I don't have much experience in Batigrl territory so, I recommend it purely because I like it....

But anyway
Batwoman
Red Hood and the Outlaws

Are the two titles I definitely recommend

What were DiDio, Lee, and Johns smoking when they introduced The New 52? It's nothing more than another Heroes Reborn, but set on a broader scale. Keep in mind that HR also radically retooled classic heroes--the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, Captain America, and Iron Man, plus a new Bucky--for then modern audiences in 1996. And yes, the same Jim Lee co-wrote the FF and Iron Man's HR adventures, as well as redesigning their costuming and classic villains. Lightning certainly struck twice here, so to speak.

Otherwise, I only read Green Lantern, since said title is still set in the Classic DCU.

I always preferred Babs as Oracle. She really matured well into her information broker role. Heck, I laughed when Captain America snapped at her--in the Batcave--back in Avengers/JLA #2 (2003).

Anyway, I was lucky to have picked up Batman: The Killing Joke back in 1988, and was shocked when DC made said classic story worthless when they suddenly waved their No. 2 pencil and repaired Babs' spine. Even Booster Gold couldn't prevent The Joker from doing so back in the now-classic Booster Gold #5 (2007).

I have all 5 issues (or was it 6?) Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman. Out of the three I like Batman The Court of Owls the best. I really recommend getting all of the Batman issues. Superman for me was getting a bit dull but the last issue started to make thing a little more interesting. As for Wonder Woman I am 50/50 on it I am still pulling it. The thing is I like Greek Mythology and that's a plus for the Wonder Woman series, however; I feel as if it's taking too much time to get to the point of the story.

But right now I've been pulling pretty much all of the 52 series, except for Animal Man, Aquaman, Swamp Thing, Suicide Squad, Deathstroke, and some other i can't remember (Frankenstein one?). It's not that I don't like them, it's just I am already pulling all others and my bank account doesn't run that deep especially when I am pulling other comics outside of the New 52 DC (Amazing & Avenging Spider-Man Yay!).

However I do recommend the following:

Batwing
Catwoman (getting interesting)
Batman and Robin
Justice League (which you already have,be sure to keep getting)
Superboy
Batgirl
Red Hood and the Outlaws
Supergirl
Birds of Prey
Batwoman
Dark Knight
Action Comics
Detective Comics

My top 5 for the New 52 would be

1. Batman
2. Justice League
3. Batwing
4. Red Hood and the Outlaws
5. Batman & Robin

My least favorite right now is Nightwing and after 5 issues I've decided to stop pulling. I was going to do the same for Batwoman but the last two issues got a little interesting.

Hope this helps!

Honestly I'm not really following any of the DCnU except Flash. I really dig the Flash, even if I'm still resentful over the disappearance of Wally West.
I did however liked Action Comics and Wonder Woman, I'm just behind on the story

Swamp Thing, Swamp Thing, and Swamp Thing. It does have a bit darker tone to it though, and is largely horror/supernatural, so if you don't like those things it may not be for you. But if you do--SWAMP THING.

I'm also going to put in a plug for All-Star Western, since I haven't seen it getting any love. Again, this is very genre taste dependent. Obviously if you don't care for westerns you won't care for this.

Maybe give Nightwing a shot. It's not blowing me away, but I'm enjoying it for the first time since Dixon's run ended in 2002.
