Punisher vs. Taskmaster

So, I go through this thing where I loved a certain superhero for awhile, but I've been wondering, if the Punisher and Taskmaster were to face off who would win. Now I don't know if they've fought in comics, and if they have, please tell me which one!
Anyway, as much as I do like the Punisher, I have this overwhelming feeling that Taskmaster could beat him up. If I remember right, the Punisher was someone Taskmaster has studied, right? So he knows his moves, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to dominate in a fight with the Punisher. Then again who knows.

As much as I hate to agree with you, I too, think Tasky would destroy the Punisher.

That pained me. A lot. Agreeing with a guy covered in a symbiote that been used by two guys previously. They probably never washed that thing. Must be what that funky smell that accompanies Venom around is.

in raw hand-to-hand,
Punisher is supposed to be an expert, and he's cleared rooms in a fistfight.
He's also a military-trained marksman.

That having been said,
Taskmaster should beat him to a bloody pulp unless Punisher can shoot him before he's seen.
At worst, Taskmaster's skill with guns is equal to the Punisher,
and his hand-to-hand is superior,
and his skill with blunt and sharp weapons is superior.

When Moon Knight supposedly beat the Taskmaster, he did it off-camera.
The writers didn't know how to make it happen any more than they could figure out how
Wolverine could SURVIVE against Lobo, much less win.
(DC VS Marvel had a READER VOTE determine the winner, so the story had to make
Wolverine win despite having no way to do so at the time.)

Punisher would shoot a man-if he saw the man and decided he was a threat.
If they were both surprised and hand-combat range, the gun would be almost useless.

Taskmaster does not have super SPEED, He can, however, execute moves as fast as the
people he's imitating- Tigra's dodging, Spidey's agility, Iron Fist's flying kicks. He also studies
YOUR style and can predict your typical moves and counter as you do them,

Taskmaster takes it, with ease.

He's gone toe to toe with the Avengers, having bested Captain America and Iron Man AT THE SAME TIME!

His roster of moves include Captain America, Punisher, Black Knight, Iron Fist, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Deadpool, Wolverine, Daredevil, Spider-Man, etc.

He knows Frank's moves perfectly. So Frank would need to think ahead, but while he's doing that Taskmaster has Cap's shield at his disposal, Hawkeye's bow & arrows, Black Knight's sword, and other moves in his arsenal.

Hand to hand, Frank is screwed despite his training. Taskmaster knows more than Frank could ever know of.

If it's a fire fight, Frank is screwed because Taskmaster knows how he moves.

If it's an all out fight, Frank is screwed. With everything at Frank's disposal, Taskmaster is prepared for pretty much anything. I mean, Taskmaster managed to take out Daken quickly when he fired a rocket launcher at him!

honestly taskmaster should be as hard to beat in a fight as dr doom or mr fantastic. they will out think all your moves as/before you do them, taskmaster will know everything you are doing the instant you attempt you do it and counter it perfectly.

also, i'm going to assume task is using his energy projector thingy, so he has any melee weapon he wants whenever he wants it. they should give that too back to him lol

Depends on the circumstances of the fight. As a marksman and hand-to-hand combatant, Taskmaster is clearly superior, but Punisher is very, very good, so I wouldn't expect him to simply be taken apart with ease. What's important is whether they get preparation, because as a tactician Punisher is head and shoulders above Taskmaster. Environment would be important too, because as an ex-marine he's been trained in everything you'd expect, and has received special forces cross-training as well. He's almost certainly more adept with regards to infiltration, camouflage, and survival, as Taskmaster seems specialised in training for direct physical confrontation. They both seem to possess reliable information networks, armaments, and bases of operation, so I'll just call them equal on that point. Another area where Taskmaster would definitely come ahead would be reinforcement, as he can rely on the entire criminal underworld to back him up in taking on Punisher (provided he can convince them of the efficacy of his plan, otherwise many will be too frightened of the potentially dire consequences of failure), while Frank can call on the support of very, very few people indeed, if any.
