Preacher is pretty good, but I kind of lost interest as the series went on. Garth Ennis is okay, but often it feels like he is writing the same story over and over again. I can't stand his latest series like "The Boys," or "Crossed." There's no substance, just a lot of shock value. If you like Preacher, I'd check out something like Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis, or just about anything by Robert Kirkman.
I havent read The Boys, but I like Crossed. I think it has more depth then people give it honestly. Though I will admit there is quite a shock factor. I love it as a piece of horror. I have never had a COMIC BOOK make me scared to turn the page. As fare as horror goes, it does its job.
I like Kirkman, I just think hes a bit overrated. I like The Walking Dead, and Haunt is pretty nifty so fare. Destroyer sucked nuts. Invisible failed to hook me (then again, I'm only 2 trades in...)
If you want some good Ennis that is not super long and hard to fallow I would just out ether Just a Pilgrim or Streets of Glory. Both are one trade long and not super over the top.
