Yeah Secret Invasion was terrible.
Dark Reign I can't really say anything about since I haven't really been following it other than my normal picks. I'm just going to wait for the trades to come out.

And I've cut Punisher out of my monthly picks. I think there was another title I stopped buying but I forget what it was.

Definitely an off week for Marvel. I think the two standouts were Deadpool #900 and Incredible Hercules. Even with the last Blackest Night Batman and the final chapter of Gravel book two, those two humor books were the only comics I made sure to read on Wednesday. I was pretty busy that day, so perhaps I was simply in a mood to laugh.

Shouldn't downplay Uncanny's Nation-X. Come praise Caesar indeed.

Sorry to hear you wont be picking up Punisher. I've been enjoying the hell out of it. I am a bigger fan of Remender than I am of Castle though, so I'd probably let him get away with murder. Even Frank's... Frankencastle man, Frankencastle!

I think the biggest thing that's turned me off Punisher has been the art. The first artist they had was great, but this new guy is just awful. Most of it is okay, but he butchers the faces something fierce.

Yes I took that picture.
Scene = Emo. Learn this

Universal War 1 a Marvel Reprint of a French Comic was interesting, but I don't think I'll be picking up anything after it.

So, Osborn will replace Namor and Emma with two new Cabal members. These are apparently Osborn "loyalists". One is Taskmaster the other, supposedly a major league villain. Any thoughts on the unknown? My first thought was Red Skull, as it could help segue Rogers back into the Avengers. That seems almost visually redundant with the Taskmaster, even if the Skull's in a Zola-bot. Shoe-horning Magneto in, as was originally planned, is still impractical. So, c'mon guys, who's it gunna be?

With the Hood already there, Taskmaster seems like a poor choice. Moreover, he's not exactly an "Osborn loyalist." He's not an idealist. He's a mercenary. He follows the money. And, as much money as Osborn has, if the price is right, he can be bought.

Who will the other one be? I don't see the Red Skull happening any time soon. He's not one to follow, especially not a maniac like Osborn. My money's on Magneto. Is it the smartest choice? Not necessarily. But it's the one I'd bet Bendis makes.

He's an idealist-but his idealism is CAPITALISM. smile

Magneto's an idealist too- but his own kind. I'd classify him as a "militant utopian."
That is,
"We want paradise on Earth and are ready to engage in world wars to get it.

I'm not certain the "loyalty" we're talking about is to Osborn per se, but to whomever's behind that throne. Again, I'm thinking HYDRA. Taskmaster's spent a lot of time with that organization through the years...

I think Osborn might be done with mutants too. That didn't go so well, despite how he manages to spin things. Magneto was supposed to fill Emma's spot originally, but Fraction had 'plans' for old Mags. As he just showed up in Uncanny, I can't see how he'd be free to join the Cabal just yet. Osborn could utilize Mystique to have it appear as though anyone was on his side. I can't see any of the Cabal falling for this though.

Magneto was supposed to fill Emma's spot originally, but Fraction had 'plans' for old Mags.

It was less that Fraction-plans stopped Magneto being on the Cabal, and more that Fraction saw more story potential for Emma being there.

A positive "Wouldn't it be more fun if we did this..." choice rather than a negative "You can't do that because I'm doing this" choice.

As to the new member of the Cabal then I see a major escalation on the horizon as I think Norman's about to, in some sense, recruit Molecule Man.

You know, I haven't read about Owen? Is that really a spoiler? since the days when Volcana was a backup in Fantastic Four. And it seemed that he wasn't really what I'd consider a Master of Evil...

"Mahna Mahna!"
(Doot dooo doodoodoo)
Now it's stuck in YOUR head.
The spoilerness here is that he just showed up confronting Norman in a confusing last page reveal at the end of this week's Dark Avengers.

There's a strong suspicion that this signifies either that we're about to find out what's really been going on, or find out a big part of where things are going from here.

Myself, I've not kept up with the character since...oooh, Secret Wars II-ish, so from where I'm standing I could see him as being very receptive to the sort of mind-games that Norman's been controlling the Sentry with.

so any else think X nation is gonna be good?

I've enjoyed the X-events more than most others. So I have high hopes. There are definitely allot to look for though, I don't know if I'm more excited for Nation X, X Necrosha, Second Coming or whatever else.

X Necrosha's at the top right now only because of Caliban's return. Gotta say I'm pretty stoked on the return of Blink 616, too. With her back, and rumors of Generation X members finally receiving some spotlight moments, maybe we’ll see further development on Clan Akkaba.

Same with me.

I've been eating up most of the X-men titles these past couple of month's.The only X title I haven't picked up in a while is Cabel.

Magneto's return pissed me off alittle because Scott is completely oblivious that Magneto is most likely planning something. Has he forgot about his track record with the X-men?

Want to be involved In a Gaian Created Superhero universe? We'll come and get
perhaps he will recruit from the thunderbolts?

Anyone lookin' forward to Siege?

Jesus is my boss amen.
Remember the cross.

I'm still buying Astonishing X-Men even though it's no longer being drawn by Simone Bianchi.

God help me, I've become a fan! crying
