Personally I never really got atached to any particular theory about him.But I will admit that the whole Jackle and Hyde thing still came compleatly out of left feild for me. eek
But it does bring something into an interesting new light in retrospect. Namely his conversation with Lee. As you guys probably noticed Hyde Ples speaks in black speach bubbles (which definatly adds to the creepy), but as you might remember, when Ples was talking to Lee in the flashback, he was useing the same black bubble. Back then it just seemed like an afect of the flash back or something, but now it seems like who Lee was talking to was Hyde Ples neutral

On a side note, I think HiNaBN is now the series with the shortest amount of time between me starting a series and purchasing supplies for a cosplay from it: roughly 24 hours, since I ordered a wig for Hanna on Wednesday.

And I did a test run (lol, not the wig I'm using since it's the wrong color and can't be used to make sideburns) to see if I can pull off Hanna's facial expressions. xD Y/N?

But you could probably guess that.

LadyKate, I think the only answers to your questions are "awesome" and "Ples," respectively. Which I realize isn't entirely helpful, but I don't think he really fits into a solid category. I'm pretty sure he's at least mostly human.

Admittedly, I knew about his whole personality thing beforehand, but man, that was a bad-a** intro for him! I didn't really expect that.

Well, he seems to have a definite Jekyll and Hyde vibe going on, and that story was about split personality disorder and mad science. Hyde!Ples seems to acknowledge that his identity is identical to Jekyll!Ples's...so they've always been together. Perhaps like Hanna, Ples is staying alive with some sketchy science/magic, and like in the original Jekyll and Hyde, his dark side comes out when he drinks his "medicine." Also, I think it's awesome that apparently the weekly booze runs are for Hyde!Ples, not Jekyll!Ples. I wonder if only one Ples is gay, too? Fascinating. I didn't see this coming but I love it so far! What are your thoughts, dear fellow Hannafags?

I'm not going to say too much regarding Ples 'cause I... erm... kind of got Tessa to spoil a lot of it for me at a con. But the Jekyll & Hyde thing is definitely the most common consensus amongst the fans.
I would bet, however, that the alcohol is for the both of them, not just Hyde. It was the Jekyll version who was buying it, after all.

Eh, reading things over again makes me think that time plays more of a part in the personalities than anything. Like Hyde!Ples' "Time is funny," comment in the latest strip, and, I don't know... all the clocks.


And on the cosplay front, it's oddly difficult to find a plain black marker with a cap like Hanna's marker that isn't a Sharpie. But it is described as a Sharpie in the comments a few times, but it doesn't look like a Sharpie... @_@ Next step: find a toy plastic hammer that I can paint, etc. Since I doubt that real hammers are safe as props...

*edit* @Taegoby: Gray eyes, gray eyes. Second looks more like Ples than the first, but maybe try the black butler's shirt instead? As for legs... derp, those uniform pants that I can't remember the name of. One of the school uniforms. Siriano pants could wok, maybe. Too bad Gaia doesn't have many elbow-length white tops, since you could use long underpants for Ples' sleeves.
