Comics and the Avengers Movie

What do you guys think are some good comics to read before watching the Avengers Movie? I've read a lot of Marvel, but not really any straight up Avengers (I read Ironman on his own). Anything you think is just really interesting or possibly relevant to the movie would do. Thanks in advance for the help!

im not sure if there will be anything particularly relevant to the movie itself as its going in its own direction. then again, i wouldnt doubt they started a series as a prequel to the movie

They're going to do a four-part prelude in March, I believe. I'll probably read that, even though I haven't read a whole lot of Avengers in the past due to my intense Cap hatred. xd

I use to really dislike Cap as well (I always thought of him as having the Superman complex: flawless) but you know the movie really changed my opinion. as did the Thor movie actually. I was indifferent to Thor and then i saw the movie and I was blown away. im pretty stoked for the Avengers movie now.

Me, too, but primarily for Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Loki. Loki was by far my favorite part of the Thor movie, although I did end up liking Thor much more than I had previously. Even after seeing Captain America, I'm not a big fan of Steve Rogers, though. He's too much of a goody two shoes for me.

I can't wait till the Avengers movie comes out. Just by the look of the Trailers that I've seen it's gonna be a good movie, I agree with the whole Captain America thing because he is too bland, but with the Hulk and Cap going at it that's gonna be kind of funny, also with Iron Man be a smart donkey it's gonna put much needed comedy it the mix. rofl

From the trailers I've seen, that's what it looks like.

According to this article, there aren't going to be any Skrulls or Kree, or Red Skull for that matter, in the Avengers movie, so we still don't know who Loki recruited.
