Although I'm aware this is fitting more towards the video game discussion board, I thought it's true relevance can only brought out more by the fans of the Dark Knight himself and their thoughts and opinions on the game, it's characters, and so on.
When I first heard about this game I was highly skeptical because there has never been a good Batman game to date. But after playing the combat challenge demo and campaign demo I was wrong. It plays great actually, but what about the characters?
Well you've got Kevin Conroy reprising his role as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker(who looks like a cross between Heath Ledger's and Jack Nicholson's) and Harley Quinn's voice actor returns as well.
As for the others...well one of the other villains you see in the game is Killer Croc comically coming out of a teeny tiny elevator. He looks more beastial than human, but his character description points out that his rare skin condition is the cause of all it. The Scarecrow is brought out more to be like Freddy Kreuger and even wields a glove with syringes on it on his right hand filled with fear juice. Bane is pretty much an exaggerated version of himself from the comics, but there's a given explanation for that. Edward Nigma makes only a voice cameo, having you go around and solve riddles on the island which I believe are optional and only grant you experience points to upgrade the Bat.
Gadgets? Yes there are gadgets such as the batterang, explosive gel, grappling hook, and something I haven't found yet.
The game's story is seemlessly tied into the Batman universe as Bane makes reference to breaking him before and that he'd do it again, but also characters from another comic(I believe Arkham Asylum? There's a guard who's hand has been taken by Killer Croc).
So overall I really do enjoy this game right now and I'm hoping that the game keeps up it's awesome theme throughout my play.
Thoughts?
