No one has ever read this series and you'll be forever alone.

well that sucks... its a really great graphic novel and should be checked out. Its not the mass produced every story is the same like marvel and dc. there good dont get me wrong just it does turn into the same after a while.

Sarcasm is wasted on some people. It's not exactly as if The Sandman is comics' "best kept secret," or anything. It's fairly well known.
♠ Well I like his books.

Never read his Sandman comics though.

Not a bad series. I assume you saw him live at PAX one year with Jonathon Coulton.
I liked his take on Batman. That's about it.

You might want to try 1602. Good work by him

Haha. First four posts are hillarious to read through. xD

Yes, for some reason a lot of people who have asked me about these comics ask the same way. "You like COMIC BOOKS? Have you heard of the SANDMAN? I know it's not too well-known but..." Blah blah blah. They are actually much more popular than people want to believe, and I don't know why. Give the guy some credit, those stories are awesome.

Just when I had finally saved enough money for Absolute Sandman #3, the guy at my store tells me their are coming out with a new, much more awesome version of the collections. I was crushed. crying
I've read the Books of Magic mini-series aside from Sandman.

Personally, I think he's just an overrated sub-par storyteller akin to what Tim Burton and Johnen Vasquez used to be to goths.

Although I can't agree with the statement about Neil Gaiman or Jhonen Vasquez, I do agree with the Tim Burton statement. His work has kinda, well, sucked as of late. That Alice in Wonderland movie was terrible. Visually appealing? Somewhat. Great story? Not a chance. Don't stick Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter onto everything and expect me to love it...
As far as Gaiman goes, Beowulf the movie blew. It was just... BAD.
And I hated Jhonen Vasquez's "Happy Noodle Boy", but I don't think he made that to be liked.

Er, yeah, The Sandman is pretty old so it's well known. I have the whole series. I also really like his collab with Alice Cooper, The Last Temptation and his comic Neverhwere but I don't care for his superhero works. Coraline was a cute book and Mirrormask is one of my favorite films.
