I stopped reading Ever After because it stopped getting updates for almost a year. I finally said "******** it" and moved on to other comics.

I haven't read anything on snafu since the great hiatus. D;

Haven't seen these mentioned.

Darwin Carmichael is Going to Hell is about a man who lives in a world where the supernatural is the everyday norm, and everyone has a karmic account, just like a bank account. Darwin's is in massive negative numbers, because he (accidentally) gave the Dalai Lama a massive brain injury. So, he's trying to keep himself out of the bowels of hell by doing good deeds, most of which he is very poorly suited for.

KinokoFry is just ********' FUNNY.

Pictures for Sad Children Is also funny, but in an entirely different way.

Ballad will leave you with some of the most ferocious blueballs ever. It just STOPS, no resolution, after a few hundred pages. But damn, what a ride. Like Edward Gorey and Tim Burton tried to write a children's fable, but said ******** IT half way through and just did whatever.

These walls don't build themselves.
I read way to many webcomics… and I hardly keep up with them.

Fey Winds
Zap!
Lackadaisy
Undertow
Flaky Pastry
Strays

I'll stop there

Dominic Deegan and Megatokyo, but those go without saying.

These are both terrible. Would it hurt these "artists" to actually learn to draw before making a comic? Christ. I was hoping MT would be better by now but no, it's still s**t.

I'm pretty sure everyone's definition of art is different, so using "scare quotes" around artist is pretty dumb. Besides, although I don't have any qualms with the art, but the main reason I read them is for the writing: Dominic Deegan especially has, in my opinion, has one of the most epic stories out there, in any format.

You like Dominic Deegan? Oh my God, please delete all webcomics off of your favorites and cleanse your palate (this goes for CAD fans as well.) Dominic Deegan is so goddamn awful on such a huge scale that it would take a college dissertation to describe just how terrible it is. And Megatokyo is awful, as well.
.

Octopus Pie, Hark! A Vagrant and 2kinds will be staying right where they are, thank you very much. (Also, I don't see what's so wrong with CAD...)

I gotta admit, the more Dominic Deegan-bashing I see, the more I respect the artist for still plugging away and telling the story, undeterred despite all the flames. (It doesn't hurt that he's really nice in person.) Were I in that position, I'd have given up long ago.

Exactly. Even if you, in your subjective opinion, don't like them, you still have to admire the dedication these artists have towards their craft.

Were I in that position, I probably wouldn't have concocted an epic storyline for the express purpose of excusing and trivialising the rape of a 14-year-old girl.

Of course, the idea of suddenly becoming fatter, uglier, stupider and also responsible for an anime webcomic about orcs and wizards? It sends a horrifying chill down my spine. I shall be having nightmares tonight.

First off, Dominic Deegan is obviously not anime because its not animated. Also, I don't think it "trivialized" Melna's rape; Stonewater did the only thing he could to save them both from a bad situation and I think that the author handled it with tact and class. In any event, this isn't the place for this discussion.

KomiyanZaibach
Well, he's making a living wage out of drawing comics that can't take more than an hour to produce, who WOULD give that up?

I don't see how the length something takes to produce should factor into my opinion of it. I mean, how long could it have taken Pollock to create his masterworks?

Dude, seriously, the art in Dominic Deegan is "anime-styled". Call it anime, manga, whatever the ******** you want, he's still using beak-noses and side-mouths coined by anime shows that didn't wanna animate anything too complicated.

As for the writing, it's boring. I cannot find any redeeming quality to it, because it is and always has been very stilted and unbelievable. Epic is not a word I would ever use to describe the only story that makes orcs and oracles and battles dull.

Also, I met Mookie during a private party at connecticon recently, and he's a super nice guy. Really, I would never be the one to hate him for making something I dislike, because some people obviously like and appreciate his work. Still, there is a huge difference between making a product that people like and making a product that's GOOD. Not noticing at first what the difference is would never make someone stupid or naive I don't think, but it's worth re-examining.

There are a s**t ton of reasons to dislike Ctrl Alt Delete and its infamous creator, but I won't even begin to go into that. I actually wrote a college paper on why it's a terrible comic. neutral

Except that anyone who has met Mookie knows that Dominic is pretty much a fictional version of the author. Dominic is also the only one EVER who manages to save the day. He is the center of everything regardless of the skills the others have.

I like Mookie. I met him at Anime Boston. He was actually a pretty bright, funny guy. I just don't think he can write or draw worth a damn.

I won't touch the rape bit since I stopped reading around the time Super Greg popped up and I can't remember whether or not I've read that scene, nevermind how it handled the situation.

Cigarettes are back. Now if I only smoked...
8-Bit Theatre - When I hear about Sprite Comics I get turned off, but this comic above all, is my favourite. It's an epic parody of Final Fantasy. EPIC.
The Phoenix Requiem - Detailed colouring and intriguing story about spirits and a plauge that is spreading (plus romance that isn't so pointless<3)
dream*scar - Very interesting (and so far sad) story on 'unhumans' and humans living together
Johnny Wander - a funny/cute webcomic based on real life events
Strays - One of the rare times I'll accept half animal/human characters, and the main characters are awesome together
Good Game - Smack Jeeves comic that is based on RPGs and really amusing

My descriptions do them no justice, but these are my all time favourites... I didn't mean for the list to get this big D:
