-Someone that always makes crazy steampunk s**t in their garage
-A dude that's always screaming weird/vulgar/weird insults while playing shooters
-A crazed feminazi
-Token cosplay girl
-Dude that vanishes for weeks with gundam models
-Someone that tries to sell their porn drawings online
-Someone that DDR's so fast you can't see their feet

Why does it have to be a comic nerd? All fandoms have those people.
sinfully_cute
-Someone that always makes crazy steampunk s**t in their garage

Now that, I would like to see.
sinfully_cute
-A dude that's always screaming weird/vulgar/weird insults while playing shooters

Does it have to be just while playing shooters?
sinfully_cute
-A crazed feminazi

?
sinfully_cute
-Token cosplay girl

Oh, well, of course.
sinfully_cute
-Dude that vanishes for weeks with gundam models

Does it have to be gundam models though? I mean, this list feels awfully specific.
sinfully_cute
-Someone that tries to sell their porn drawings online

Dude, any pervert would do there. xd
sinfully_cute
-Someone that DDR's so fast you can't see their feet

Would also be cool to see.
sinfully_cute
-D&D playing will happen

Well, that's a given.

Well... if you're trying to brainstorm for a series, I'd just point out how the Guild uses a lot of geek archetypes, but manages to condense into six main characters. For instance, the vulgar insults character turns out to also be a cosplay girl. So you could do some condensing too, if you want. I could see the critical nerd also being vulgar when in the thick of things. Or maybe the vulgar one is the porn-obsessed one. Or the cosplayer is also a DDR fanatic.

Just a thought. Anyway, uh... geek tropes... geek tropes...

I know my series has D&D actually as a sort of part of the thing. Not D&D per se, but it's basically that their lives have become a sort of RPG, so the characters have stats, and HP bars are shown in the next chapter.

I don't know, you could always do that, or have some RPG-obsessed character refer to those things as if they were real even if they aren't - for instance, he'd talk about his character alignment, or about how he doesn't have enough STR to lift a box or something.

Uh... you've always got fans who hate when others insult their favorite things. Or you could have two fans of something who dispute what's the best part of the series, possibly even coming to blows over the argument. Like that whole Star Trek "Who is the better captain?" bullshit, or like... shippers.

Holy s**t, you need to feature shippers.

Since when were feminists part of the geek culture? Also, using the word feminazi is not cool cool

Sorry, but with how misogynist geek culture is, I'm hardpressed to think that any of the people tired of the bullshit is a 'feminazi'. I'm also loath to use a term coined by Rush Limaugh for his straw-feminists.

MRAs are probably more common than extreme feminists. Mostly because they are good at driving everyone away from fandom.

Yeah... more likely would be a genuine female geek mistaken for a "gamer grrl" or some other geek poser. Or maybe just some chick who doesn't know how far down the rabbit hole goes.

You know, I feel silly asking this. But what is a "mra?"

Men's Right's Activists. Generally people that believe they are being oppressed by feminism.

Speaking of feminism, I was flipping through my favorite webcomic artist's tumblr the other day.
She mentioned sometimes, she won't post art because she doesn't feel like dealing with the crap that comes with it. She draws an m/m webcomic.

And for some reason, I doubt a guy would get crap for drawing lesbians, he's just being a man. But if a girl draws what she likes, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Haha, I'm probably exaggerating a little. But it got me thinking. In our society, quality material aimed at women in general often gets ignored, in comparison to material for men. (Also speaking of) Anita Sarkeesian, her video on Oscar nominees passing the bechamel test showed that well.

It's just kind of sad a lot of ladies feel this way.

Edit: Jesus, trying to fix the image. Not sure if it's messed up or if it's just my computer tripping balls.
...Because my computer is tripping balls.
