Tell them to post any concern in here. After all, all I7m really asking and offering is the possibility of collaboration. At this point in time and really until September this is only shotting the breeze really.

I can understand their concerns I mean I'd feel shifty eyed too if I was approached over Gaia fer cryin out loud with a wack job proposal like this. However so long as you guys are careful and think everything you agree with through then you'll realize this really is a benifit for you.

Especially considering since you said you're all underage other then getting to see all the work involved in a comic it's not like I really will print you at least not without you guys having a long hard discussion with you parents and if your gut reation is a hesitent no think of what the people that really ARE concerned with your future are going to think. Hell I'm willing to bet if you asked them now "Hey I want to make a career out of being a comic book artist" they'd probably be against in on principal anyway.

In either case have them address their concerns in here, after all you're studio won't be shutting down and you don't even need to agree to anything now just float around in here and see how it goes.

Heck we don't even have a name for us yet we are a non existant thoughtbubble!

M'kay so I'm going to go through our THINGS TO THINK ON list and basically doing a small writeup for each one which will then be posted up onto the front page for a day or two before we get into thinking about names.
So first on the list of things to do is (Besides the name logo and business plan, those are coming first because really what's the point of making a mock up publishing studio when legally you can't print. (I mean you can but if any of you really do get famous 5-10 years from now you're going to be screwed by the lack of legality now)

•writing and proofreading the script,

- This will be the jobs of the individual studio's of course. As this studio will just be in charge of the business side of things and most likely not officially print anything as it's own (PBS will be printing with Karoushi so our work will be under their name)

However don't think this isn't difficult, when it comes to writing a good script you're going to have to draft out a timeline as to what's going to happen in your story. The begining and end are good but it's all the middle that needs to be plotted out before you choose which chunk of it you'll be drawing and write a proper panneled script for it.
Even if you never thought to do that before I highly rccomend it. In the first draft of "Unoriginal" When I printed "Pandora" I only did a rough draft of what would happen and what people would say and everything was off. My next draft in "Unoriginal 1/2" was better because I wrote the actual story out. But not in comic form in story form which left my pacing to be a little wompy.
So keep this in mind it's harder then it looks.

When getting an editor get someone whom you don't know to do it. Sometimes friends will just look it over and gush at it because they're your friends. Don't take what they say personally and really work with them to get your work up to par.
In Unoriginal 1/2 we had a writer who really couldn't write and her stories were basically re-written by the Editors. Now she's improved and get's her Uni teachers to proofread her work before she even sends them in to our Editors, but imagine if she was stubborn about it?
((Sadly now due to the shutdown of PBS our Editors are all off doing their own things crying ))

Well the thing is, and if I can be brutally honest with people. Alot of the studio's on Gaia I've noticed are quite lofty. Or (and this is such a pot calling the kettle black think to say) Rather disorganized.

Alot of the studio's are opening applications which if they're even thinking about printing they really need to have a lawyer present for all of these discussions (because this is on the internet any promises you make here can be documented and made into a contract with the right swinging so if someone says something someone else can hold them to it later when they didn't mean it leaving someone eventually screwed)
Noone has their name copyrighted (I mean I do but only on a municipal level it's not officially trademarked which mean with the right money behind it someone COULD steal it but it would be a pissy legal battle since I've got documented legalities)
At any given moment I could turn around and swipe ANYONE'S studio's name. Some studiosare discussing plot out in the open (In fact some people on Gaia are using this place as an idea forum which while is nice at the same time once again makes is rather easy to swipe change and copyright somene elses material and then use it yourself. ((So anyone worrying I'm going to steal their work if they sign, in all honesty if you're not careful I could do it anyway))
The money projections for alot of these studios ar too low and their profit hopes are too high. Due to the internet the comic selling industry has been suffering quite the staggering blows. Hence the reason Marvel is whoring out so much to the movie industy (but thats to the internet that's getting a good old stab in the eye too)

I can't make any promises, but I can show that I have some experiance and dedication. And even if noone does print with this studio, I'd like it to at least be an open resource for everyone to learn.

hmm I really need to beg WillieHews to come on here she's got buckets more experiance then me and I've promised her I'd print her comic. Which I am SO eager to do because it is full of awsome and win.

updated the front page. Considering scrapping original plan and just restarting a studio under a more democratic name or kick starting PBS again. But there are a few people I'd want to talk to about on that first.

Okay well now I'm thinking. Since once again I'm the only one on this project, and noone else seems to be caring. I'm just re-opening PBS but am going to be a much more dedicated stickler b***h for it. Front Page is Down AGAIN!

Front Page is up again and compleatly redone in studi style albit subject to mad a** changes.

Studio Name is subject to change, this is just what we're going with at the moment. I'm going to start hunting down artists and some of the old staff and telling them what's up. In a few weeks if I get some people interested, we'll start a guild and an offGaia forum (especially the off Gaia forum)

Hm.. I hold some intrest in this place... Though I'll have to wait till I know if I'm accepted into Destiny Studios before deciding if I want to apply. I'm already 18 so age shouldn't be a problem. I also have a comic that is the brain child of this one guy and me it's not really manga, but I couldn't bring myself to make Butterman in an anime-esque format. He just wouldn't look right.

You suggested that you'd prefer to see responses to you put in this forum rather than via an email reply, so that's what you will get. Even though it's so bizarrely wierd to me. I can see the appeal, but, yeah... never had an account... hmmm... can I make my little avatar be naked? What does he look like under there. *ponders doing that later*

Anyhow, I'm still in the same state as when you first approached me. I'm happy to have Anti-Bishie printed if you so desire, but I'm not really able to manufacture anything more "professional". No money ever required (Not that it would ever be refused, of course. Can't forget that.). That comic certainly isn't about money to me and if people are actually paying for it... well, that's their insanity not mine.

To be slightly more helpful, if there is something that you think I might be able to do to be helpful than feel free to run it by me and I'll let you know if I can or can't. I honestly don't actually know what I might or might not be able to do, though.... I just don't really know what gets done or needs to get done. *thinks* The only thing that really comes to mind would be file assembly stuff, but I assume that you're running off of a program I don't have access to (What do you print from, anyways? Acrobat files, or something else? Curious.).

I always enjoyed the Psycho Bunny name. It makes me think of the Easter Bunny. Lazers and blood and explosions. Happy things.

And as for the website... hmm... I hate to be a pain in the butt, as I really don't remember HTML code to save my butt, but I would suggest raising the part where stuff is to the top of the screen and changing the horizontal graphics so that they stretch out all the way to the side on a 800x600 res. It feels like you've got this little window on your moniter that you're peering through.

Thats okay, We're not a manga studio. Just comics. We're open to anything acctually, however have you talked to your freind about trying to publish Butterman or are you planning on making something new?
