Oh, I'd love to participate here. too - I wasn't sure how stringent the 30-page thing would be.

"Fickle b***h. Don't imagine me if you don't stay for snuggles."

Those who manage to pencil 30 pages+ are going to be added to the Winners post, but I personally think it's more important to just try to get started. I'm not too sure if I'm going to draw that many either, but I think we all need the motivation just to draw. 3nodding

Okay, adding you on to the list!

I was thinking of doing it on my own, so its nice to see it here; officially saying it some where will give me a better reason to actually do it. I have no idea if I'll be able to complete it, but its a good way for me to kick start my own project and I might as well try—its not like its going to hurt anything if I don't.

That's how I feel about my own comic ideas. I've been too lazy for too long, and this is a perfect incentive to finally start.

All right, adding you to the list!

My problem is I tend to start get a few pages in, then decide the first couple of pages look like crap and then I go back and do them again. By the time I'm done those the rest look like crap. So I do those. Then I look back and they all just look terrible. And thus the cycle continues.

Hopefully with this I'll push past a few pages (and then I can call them all terrible and start over in December).

Better to start now than to never start at all.

I always get that feeling with my art; I draw something, a few months later, I thought it was the worst thing I have ever drawn. I think that's the curse of every artist; we always end up finding mistakes and we're never satisfied. But, if we're always satisfied with what we draw, how will we know what to improve on?

That's why I always tell people: if you think its perfect, you're just not looking hard enough for mistakes.

I beginning to believe art is for masochists.

Maybe. We sure do enjoy sacrificing hours of sleep and eating on pennies for the sake of art, not to mention of course we're self-critical. Although, some are too pansy to say anything bad about their art, and shield themselves away from any criticism.

*coughs*AndrewAnimation*coughs*

I think I consider myself lucky I took a break from gaia during the time all that was going on. (Though when I got back, I wondered what the ******** happened to the AD)

Aw, but you missed on all the lulz!

Actually, it may have been better that you weren't around. It was brain racking how anybody could have such a cocky attitude and a "I deserve everything" mentality with such mediocre artwork. Plus he had legions of fangirls, who he affectionately called wives and daughters. Ew.

Yeah, there's a certain point where the lulz turn into headache inducing frustration.

That's more than a wee bit creepy.

The guy defined creepy. He's a late-20 something year old guy, and he drew things like this, which he thought were perfectly acceptable.

And he threw a fit because the Gaian mods banned him for continually drawing lolicon/borderline porn, despite several warnings.

***** much?

Ugh... yeah, I love laughing at the antics of stupid people, but I think I'm happy about missing that.

I wondered what the whole AndrewAnimation thing was about. I had only heard vague references made to him. Talk about ew factor, lolicon/shotacon is not my cup of tea.

Sorry if i missed this somewhere, but does it have to be specifically a comic, or would it be manga/animation character/illustration drawings as well?
I haven't done comics in a while, but I'll consider it.
