manga toning question

just wondering how I can get an effect like this, I have computones but this doesn't seem to be one of them, and I don't have manga studio if it's one of those brushes. any suggestions on achieving a similar or same effect?

Hey, I think that may be a combo of two tones layered up on each other and then scraped away at the edges.
You could probably digitally generate that effect yourself This pack of tones may be useful!

I think the only way to get that effect is by crosshatching really small, adding more and more to get the darker areas and less to go lighter. It's one of those things that seems to be easier to do with traditional media, but I don't think it's impossible with digital if you're working at a high resolution.

you would erase it with the eraser once you fill it in in all black...with making the eraser the shape.
