hey guys, do I really have to keep my work PG13? can I please put some ultra-violence and partial nudity into my project? cause that would suit my art style better. i'm going for retro style and i'm hoping to use above devices to attract more adult viewers.

Sure, if I'm the only one for keeping this PG-13 or under, I guess you can go for the "adult"*audience. I prefer Bill Waterson retro. But I'll happily pull out if this team wants to go in a direction I can't support (aka: higher than PG-13), the book'll keep your lovely lines, I won't read it, my life will be simpler, and the comic won't actually lose a character.

Sorry for not replying earlier; I think everything you said made sense, so thank you. It also makes sense that you'd go for a charity you already have connections to. It also also makes sense that everyone loves Misha so much. It should be fine.

cool, so you can start right away. what you need to do is to create a set of characters, write/draw a single chapter worth of story, set 1 protagonist who would travel to another dimension using the "key" by the end of that chapter, and we are good to go.

you will have complete freedom over this project except by the end of the chapter, our individual characters will meet up on the last page.

I have already started the project and have finished about 1/5 of the story.

Did we decide it was another dimension we were unlocking? I mean, now your first section's plot makes more sense, but if we're traveling to another dimension (in that case meaning an alternate reality) vs. more unlocking a gate or (if it's a dimension dimension) unfolding an area, it would almost make more sense for the characters to come from a more varied set of genres than we've been thinking, because this was one world, with "space-" as a universal prefix.

I personally like the idea of the keys activating something that straightens out an intentionally-made wrinkle in space/time--maybe noticeable by incongruencies in the temperatures (or orbits?) of nearby planets relative to their distance from their star, if the sun's energy is still traveling into, through, and out of the folded area.

If that were what we did, would it be plausible for the Rodger to have some sort of direct link to the entryway of the dimension, or would you have to change something bigger in your plot?

I have always assumed that we are writing stories about different dimensions and then assembling each of our own character into the same dimension thru a gate and a key.

this works too, since aliens from different worlds should have a varied set of genres. so overall nothing significant should be changed.

This Heavy Metal? As far as I can tell, the art style is the same as in this show, just with more black in the palette. Just like this guy's style is almost exactly like this guy's. The author's chosen genre and characters are the only things that might make it seem necessary to have "ultra violence" (you realize that's directly pointing to A Clockwork Orange, which is basically trying to be the worst of humanity, right?) and nudity.

Basically, I'm not comfortable with going outside of PG-13. Violence is less of an issue for me than sex; completely non-sexual nudity, with reason, is usually fine (dead webcomic: The Meek), but put the two together and things get iffy.

I am very comfortable retreating from this project; more so every day. So, ahem...

Just remember, what you write and draw is your decision with a little bit of audience interpretation--it's never just part of the art style.

Although I agree that a bit violence is aceptable, because it might come to fights in some cases (but I think mine will at most be about a battle of wits, idk).
Regarding nudity, do we refer to like, sexy curvy lines with tight suits? Or something else past of it?

I'm not so sure about what we are infering, so I believe I might want to see drafts or sketches pr what it might imply before making a definite opinion of it.

yeah, that is the direction i'm going for. as for ultraviolence it is needed for my badger's world since it is filled with criminals. same goes for strippers, drugs, alcohol, etc....

I'm thinking not going as far as erotic scenes. maximum? topless for female characters. sexy curvy lines with tight suits is an absolute. since it fits the space sci fi genre like a glove.

I guess I should be with Echo Is Gone and say I won't make a judgement call until you show us an example; I'm almost never on the same page with people online. Is there a webcomic (or section of one) that goes up to but does not cross the same line you'll use, while holding about the same detail level that you'll have? A link to that would be one way of universally demonstrating your thoughts without having to draw scenes that could be rejected.

In the end or our journey, he is supposed to disappear, because he can no longer be "smoke" after quitting the drug-thingy.

I think that, since your plot sounds mostly anti-drug (and we won't be seeing him looking glamorous while drugged, just the effects on his mind, right?) then you're safe in the PG-13 zone. It's adult themes, but well-handled.
