Calm down, Kersian. If you get this pissed after just a week or so of this, I think you're going to burn out.
Phantom, I wish you luck. It's going to be hard finding an artist without a way to pay them commission, but it can be done. You should probably provide a bit more information about where the plot will go. |

Well if you are the writer and you did have an artist collaborating with you, then you should focus on the events that will happen. It's only 200 pages long. Hmm do you have your supporting cast? Oh and just to be sure did you go over each and every character you made for this story. Cause if they are like perfect then well you know it'll get boring in a way. I think a character chart is helpful, just to avoid being called a Mary Sue. |

I'll add more of the plot. Kersian: I have most of the peripheral characters, but not all of them. I'm still working out how many would be needed to crew the most common type of pleasure boat for the time. Why a chart? Would posting it be helpful? I don't generally use them . . . |

I differentiate myself from the "i want to mke a manga!!111!"crowd that I see very commonly around the forum by, among other things, a basic grasp of the language. |

Hmm I feel a bit guilty now for just jumping to conclusions. Now anyways a character chart is not like a graph or anything, but it sorts of help keep track of who your character is. It's basically a whole personal information on them. How do they look like? What is their background? What are their strengths and weaknesses? Their likes and dislikes? They're personality? Their wishes? Just like basic stuff to make the character seem like a real person. |

I differentiate myself from the "i want to mke a manga!!111!"crowd that I see very commonly around the forum by, among other things, a basic grasp of the language. Well at least you can spell, omgosh you know what I hate. If a fangirl or fanboy gave me their manga idea, like their first chapter on it. Like a book for now. And in that book were words that looked like they were just taken from a thesaurus, then I will just close it. |

Let's not forget: both The Princess Bride and Romeo and Juliet are satire. Twilight is meant to be serious business. But then Smeyer thinks Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy don't have a good relationship because if one died, the other could move on with their life. Because 'twoo wuv' means engaging in self-destructive behavior. Phantom: I appreciate the fact that you haven't gone all, "Waaah, my feelings are huuurt!!11!1" And it really will be hard to find an artist for free, unless you have a truly engaging story. Granted, seeing as you have good grammar and don't act like a whiny brat, it may go smoother. |

She's just as bad as some of the people who come to this forum and she actually IS an adult. People criticize Stephen King and he didn't go "Awaaah, they're so mean!" Some reviews of Dean Koontz's and James Patterson's (both of whom are popular though neither are that good of a writer, imo) on Amazon.com are pretty harsh, but I've never heard of them getting all teary-eyed because of it. Unlike Meyer, who got all upset in an interview because someone on Amazon.com said that instead of BURNING your Breaking Dawn copy, return it.
And if some of your most DIE HARD fans read your book and go, "OMGWTFBBQ THIS UNBELIEVABLY HORRID!" don't you think that might be a sign? |

Kersian: I'm actually planning to either leave thre majority of physical appearance up to the artist, aside from a couple of very basic things. I hope that having a part in their design will make an artist feel more involved.
I don't tend to use character sheets, aside from an Excel spreadsheet with names, who's dead, and very basic relationships. They're convenient in some cases, and if the artist wants them for reference (to indicate likely body language, etc), I'll make them, but I've found they're mostly detrimental to me when I'm writing, because they encourage me to be lazy and write off the sheet, and not make them whole people in my head. And then they end up talking the same. Mink: And that's why Meyer is awful. Austen is wonderful, wonderful romance. Sense and Sensibility is my current favorite - less cringe-inducing foolishness. And I know it'll be difficult to find an artist, especially one willing to work on a project this long. I don't want to hurt my chances by being awful. |
