Just one question your help would be great

hey i'm just starting to get into my drawings after seening some of the excelent ones on gaia, ive had a go on my own but i get stuck on the eyes. I don't know if there are any other places to post this but any tips etc on how to draw the eyes would be greatly appreciated.

... *pokes you* alive? sweatdrop & no kidding, we kinda hafta know more detail. You into anime eyes? Realistic? Something... else?;;;; I'd say: just look at people's eyes & practice as much as you can. I'm assuming you want to draw anime eyes, cuz well... this is Gaia. The first time people look at anime eyes, they may not see how they directly relate to real eyes. But everything about an anime eye is just a stylized version of a realistic one. So first, you should probably try to understand why the eyes are drawn like they are: the iris is shaded at the top because it's in shadow from the upper lid, (& the iris itself is concave, but that's not really necessary to know..) the top lid is darker because there are more lashes on the top then on the bottom, stuff like that. Don't try to make your own style of eyes based on anime/cartoon eyes, try to make your own style based on real eyes, & stylize them how you want. If you stylize a stylization you'll get too far from reality, & I dunno.. become abstract or something. O__o.;;

i totally agree with what Guacamole-kun said about drawing eyes and such. but if you need some sites out there to help you just go on google and search for anime eyes or eyes or something, there are a whole lot of good tutorials out there but make sure you tweak the style to make it more of your own if you copy from some where because its more interesting that way.

What do you mean? He wanted to know how to draw eyes, I gave him a link to a siter with an eye tutorial. stare
