Welcome to Gaia! ::

Hi all. I'm desperate. this is the first time I have been bored in the last 10 years. I have always had something to do creative wise, and have folders upon folders of random ideas and half baked plots and characters that are now rotting away. The problem used to be I had too many I wanted to work on but for the past 3 months when I've actually have had time to do so I have had no motivation to finish them. Nothing seems good enough, and although it would normally be easy for me to come up with a fresh new plot to at least get me motivated to start sketching it's like I'm all dried up.

It's seriously freaking me out, I've tried ALL of my usual tricks (random generators, drawing from life, sketching whatever comes to mind, trying to get inspired, trying stuff from the 'uninspired?' thread) and I'm getting NOTHING. not a blip!

Anyone got any advice on how to get through this dry spell before it becomes permanent? gonk
I was in the same situation not to long ago.

At times when I lack motivation, I force myself to draw. As I draw, I always come up with new ideas which motivates me to keep drawing. Music also helps me get into the mood to draw.

I find it helpful to jot down any ideas for the story, characters, or dialogue no matter how you feel about them. At least you'll have something to work with.

For the story. Plan it out. You don't have to write parts of your story in order. Heck, it doesn't have to make much sense when planning. For drawing. Use what you got in your folders or draw new stuff without putting much thought into them.

Just always remember that you can change and improve your work.
Just write don't draw for a bit.
