Chinko-chan You guys I must say that hearing people smack/pop/chew gum makes me want to punch that person in the face. Even if I really like that person. Oh dear, I'll remember that in case we ever meet up... I love bubblegum, and I'm always blowing bubbles with it and then popping them. I do the same with chewing gum as well even though it doesn't quite work the same. |

I don't understand the appeal of bubblegum. A lot of kids in my high school would b***h and moan about having to get rid of gum that they were chewing in class, so I kind of associate gum with that. It also didn't help that they'd stick it underneath EVERYTHING. Chairs, tables, whatever. I even saw some on the ceiling once.

I just think gum is so gross, especially the ones that chew with their mouth open. Ughh it just looks like a cow chewing its cud. It really bugs me at my job because I work at a call center and I think it's really unprofessional to have gum in your mouth while you're talking to a customer.

They chew gum while talking on the phone? That's usually pretty noticeable. Though, gum also causes you to salivate so your mouth doesn't get dry so I can sort of understand the logic behind that.
A glass of water would cure that without being gross and obnoxious. |

Oh yeah, it's disgusting when people put gum underneath the table. It hardly takes any more effort to put it in the bin! I shudder to think of the kinds of bacteria that must congregate under there. No, I rarely chewed gum in school, but I like it because it tastes nice and yet you don't get any calories from it. Well, maybe one or two, but that's it. It can often cheer me up when I'm feeling annoyed or a little blue. Except if I have too many pieces of gum a row then I get a stomach ache... because of the excess acid or something.

Well we aren't allowed to have food at our desks so I dont know how gum seems to be the exception to that. and they dont chew on the phone, I think they hide in in their cheek pockets like gerbils.
Also unrelated, but why is it that you seem to have atleast one person call you out on everything you say? xd I was just in the star/lune thread so that's why I bring it up, but it seems like a common occurance. |

I think it's more just because of this forum, and in particular certain people who have it in for Held. x3
I just clicked into the Star and Lune thread after you mentioned it, Chinko... I was about to close it after reading the first page and deciding that it was just another one of those threads, but then I read the last page and was like, "Wait, wtf?" Now I'm reading the whole thread in an attempt to get to grips with what the artist was trying to do. I've been totally distracted from my NaNo xD Might have to blitz it all in the last hour like I did last night. Ah well. |

If they had it in for me, I'd have been banned a long time ago. There's certainly plenty of instances where I said things I'm not supposed to for that to happen. I'm sort of confused on why that hasn't happened already.

Actually, one of the things that made me want to stick around this forum was seeing some of the regulars call a poster out (I forget who) for using bigoted language.
Most other art-related fora, it seems like folks are reluctant to let someone know if they're showing their a**. |

Foul language is fine, but there's a difference between "foul" and "dehumanizing and bigoted". Personally, I'm pretty ireful about how common homophobic slurs and re-appropriation of "gay" as an insult are. That and misogynist language, though to be honest, "c**t" is taboo enough that I don't see it often. |

You're giving excuses such as people having it in for me. It usually makes a person feel vindicated. If I think Tovarish and the others are to blame because I am the poor little victim and they are the mean people harassing me, I'll probably do it again.
I tend to use language I shouldn't and it gets me in trouble for good reason. You should wonder less about who has it out for me and more about why I haven't already learned to resist kneejerk reactions. |
