Yeah I saw it, but I've had calculus problems look less intimidating. I've saved it on my resources page.

I was thinking about sound effects, but I'm not sure how to do it. Japanese symbols might look appropriate (for comic effect).

Oh man, at first I was thinking of what a bad idea it would be to use japanese, but then I thought, what if the japanese read out to be english? Like for that page it'd read Snappu (スナップ, if that displays at all for you). As to how to do it, I think there's a link in your resources thread, but you'd still have to pick the right font and stuff first. Good luck.

Oooh, sound effects in Japanese, I never thought of that! It would definitely add to the imitation-manga quality we've been going for in the comic so far. Only those who can read Japanese would get the joke, but that's often what can make a comic funny - jokes that are only comprehensible to a certain 'enlightened' group of people. Like obscure cultural references. The only downside I can immediately see is that we'd have to redo the lettering on page 3 (what's the Japanese equivalent of 'fwoosh'?), but ah well. Once I get home I can look in the back of my Fruits Basket graphic novels, where they always give a glossary of Japanese sound effects, if we need ideas.

@Emi: Hooray for finishing school! That must be an amazing feeling. I'm almost done with my China trip - only 15 days to go. My favourite flatmate (and roommate) is leaving today, so I'm very sad about that. ;__; It won't be the same without her.

@Ben: With regards to page 9, I think the lettering should really be bolded and italicised, to make it look more menacing. Also, the spikes on the speech bubble don't look right; they look like the bubble is trying out a spiky new hairstyle. In my opinion if a speech bubble is going to be spiky, it should all be spiky, as opposed to this combination of curved lines and spikes which just looks like the spikes have been tacked on as an afterthought. It doesn't give the right impact.

Dear lord! Done them! To be honest I almost gave up halfway on the first page and left it as a few illegible scribbles, but I kept at it, slowly, and finished it. So many strange angles!

I think the biggest difficulty I had so far was learning how to draw the characters, trying to guess what their actual personality is, and try to convey that. Not sure how successful this is, but I feel mighty proud that these are done. I wasn't sure how Miles looked like, so I left him blank. (I was tempted to do Edgeworth's design XD)

There were ref sheets in the photobucket, I think (though I'm not sure if we ever had one for miles). As for personalities, I guess it'd be clearer if/when you read the script which is tucked away in some corner of the guild, lol.

I love the bottom row on page 10. And yay, backgrounds. Those seem to be rare. And strange angles are what the whole test is about. 3nodding I made sure of it.

Yaaaay I'm so glad you managed to finish! ^__^ Congrats!! I know the angles were strange, but that was the point of the test xD Aren't we evil? I don't blame you for leaving Miles blank, he doesn't have much of a personality as it is xD I think we have a doodle of him somewhere but I must have forgotten to upload it to the Photobucket... ah well.

Ah, cheap stuff is one of the things I'll miss most about China, especially the cheap arcade games. I'm planning on stopping by the arcade after work today for the third evening in a row x3 The combination of an accessible, cheap arcade which has my favourite game is just not something I'm capable of resisting. Every time I go I can have like 5, 6, 7 games at the same price as 1 or 2 in England. It's going to be so depressing when I get back and everything is triple the price. X3
