Yup! How do you feel about toning them all? mrgreen

@Emi: No we're not. x3 You must've seen that in the site rearrangements, the Artist's Corner is now almost at the top of the forum directory? That's why we're getting so many more spammers in the CC... I reckon they click on 'Art Discussion' and then see 'manga' and go "OOOOOH".

Though, maybe I'm attributing too much thought to the process. They probably don't look where they're clicking. xp I agree though that there must be a lot of spammers around in general for there to be so many in this one forum. Idiots. Why can't they go to the Chatterbox, which is created for them?! I hope the mods are banning the repeat offenders.

I wonder who decided this change was necessary xd
Lord knows. I think they're keeping a low profile otherwise they'll have hordes of angry Gaians after them.

Hey 'chanted! Remember that comic script I posted up with the shapeshifters like forever ago? Well, I somehow managed to finish pencilling it biggrin

(though, the spreads are a little hard to read on my site... sweatdrop )
hey i'll be a colorist i love to do things involving comics and anime/manga i love drawing and writing and coloring
mrgreen mrgreen mrgreen

Would you care to fill out the application on the front page then?
Okay guys, here's The Thing.

For the last few weeks I've been debating with myself about whether I should try and revive Catalytic yet again or finally give up on it, and in the end I decided I would ask you guys, since it all depends on your participation, and I can do it easily with this handy new feature. I always wanted to at least finish Domino Disaster if nothing else, because I think we've got a good thing going, and I wouldn't want all the work we've managed to do to go to waste. After that I would play it by ear. Because much as I like TIAN, if we can hardly even manage one short project... things don't look hopeful.

And at the moment it doesn't look like we'll manage even that much. I'm sorry that I let this thread die, but I notice no-one else tried to revive it either, which makes me wonder whether it's worth continuing with the studio. Both commitment and initiative seem thin on the ground with CP, and I know that people have RL commitments, but if they're preventing you from even posting then there's no way you'll be able to contribute to a comic. So in that case it's not worth trying to continue.

The condition is this: if people want to keep the studio going I need everyone to come back, pull their weight (which may differ depending on their position, I know, but everyone can help), take initiative to do things on their own, keep the studio active, and STAY COMMITTED. If I don't think it's going to work I won't hesitate to end it, because I'm sick of dragging the studio along on its stomach when maybe it just needs to be allowed to die.

I love CP, I think that what we have created so far is great and we could create something greater if we tried, but I cannot do it on my own. I can't run a ghost studio where no-one ever posts, because on the internet that's the only way of knowing people still exist. And I certainly do not want to spend all my time hounding people for pages and art and storyboards like I have done, because why should I have to? It's no fun for me and it usually means you guys can't be bothered to do them of your own accord.

So. If you can't commit to the studio any longer, or if you didn't post in the thread when it was deserted because you figured the studio was on its way out anyway, say so. I promise I won't bite your head off. I'll thank you for your honesty and your help in making my decision.

If you really think that it's worth carrying on with the studio, and you realise that continuing would be under the conditions that I've already given, with people actually sticking around, doing things, and moreover doing them of their own accord, then say that. If half of our members (those who respond, since I don't think everyone will) vote yes and half vote no, it'll still depend on what positions we have occupied and whether I think we can replace the ones who aren't prepared to carry on.

I think that's all.

(This is what I was going to write in the Guild Announcement, but the 1500 character limit prevented me from saying everything I wanted to, so I decided to post here instead, where people could reply giving their opinion on whether or not the studio should carry on).

P.S.: Emi - the pencils look awesome. Sorry it took me so long to read the comic. Have you got anywhere with inking and stuff yet?

P.P.S.: Scai - Yeah, it would appear your initial PM got lost in the proverbial post. @_@ But I got your second one, and if the studio continues then I see no problem with you being an editor.

...

In my defense, I haven't really posted on Gaia at all.

...

Still, I vote yes. I love this little studio we have going. I've had a lot of fun these past few years trying to make even just one comic. We definitely need more input from everyone. I really feel weird when I double post and so I tend to not post at all if no one has said anything.

Still, real life sucks, and it tends to be even more quiet when the school year's starting up I think.

I feel like if we start issuing out deadlines for things to be done, they'd be more likely to get it done eventually. without deadlines, I feel like it can be done whenever and so I take months doing things (as you may or may not have noticed). I get what you mean about not wanting to hound people, but I think in the end, that's what we need more of. (But then again, I am an advocator of ruling with an iron fist, lol.)

I also think we need to weed out members who've disappeared off the face of the world. Again. I don't get why it's so hard to find people who'd stick around. It's not even asking that much. Maybe if we gave them more assignments instead of having them lounge about until we can come up with an assignment for them. User Image

So yeah. In the end, I vote "yes", we should keep the studio going.

(Also, I've gotten pretty much nowhere with the inking because I'm currently dealing with a slight artistic dilemma. :/)

Oh dear sweatdrop What's the dilemma? Also, I was talking about inking your comic and not anything to do with CP. Just realised that might not have been clear.

I love it too. But, I still don't have a new scanner. D: I love CP and check this thread daily. I'll work harder. Maybe, I can use my friend's scanner.

I knew what you were talking about. And I got pretty much nowhere with it.

I'm having consistency issues, and it really bugs me now. :/

I haven't really replied to anything, because I did not know what I was supposed to do in the guild. It didn't seem like we needed any writing as of yet. I was actually waiting for someone to tell me what to do. Plus college is a big time consumer. I'm not sure as of yet whether to drop out or not crying .

Woo, college...

I don't know. As much of a time leech college is, I actually have a pretty decent amount of free time. (Or maybe that's because I push off the homework for later...) I do hope you'd stay. You were fun. 3nodding
No-one else? -.-;; That bodes well...

That's not good. :/

But at least now we know who's actually still on board and who isn't.
