Oooh, an applicant. I haven't seen one of those in a while, lol.

Hrmm, 'Chanted, how are we on applicants right now? Are we still amidst our upheaval of the studio, or shall we start going through applications again?

(Also, I looked on the front page and saw that web designer is wanted. I'm gonna go change that. I rather enjoy being the only one doing it, lol. No one to really challenge my ideas.)

While we're plugging our own projects and such, http://cp.emihaumut.com/shapeshifter.php?v=1&p=001

Which reminds me, I should send out a guild message about that.

ne...
anyone home? o.o;

Sorry, it seems like people have been swamped with real life/NaNo, lol. I can try to get in touch with one of them to see what the situation is.

You're absolutely right, Emi. x3 I have been swamped by NaNo - but shouldn't you be, too? xD Being swamped is the only way to do it properly. I notice your wordcount is still 0!

Sorry for the wait, Michi - although you know, hanging around and chatting is a great way to earn brownie points with us =D I think we're fine to accept applicants at the moment, so you should receive the test for the Character Artist position shortly via PM. The Costume Designer and Character Artist positions do kind of overlap, in the sense that you can think up a suitable outfit for the character as you draw them, and then draw them wearing it. That would actually save time, because we normally have to get a Costume Designer to design a few first and then the Character Artist draws the character wearing one. So you do get to do some designing =3

oooh, i love brownies <3 can't make them to save my life though X3
i was kind of wondering what the overall difference was with the two positions, so now that's cleared up =]
i'm working on my photoshop skills, so hopefully i could be of some help with doing backgrounds.. maybe with some determination and lurking in a tutorial site >>

i just saw the NaNoMangO thread, and it looks interesting surprised
might try doing that myself... maybe just to prove why i couldn't ever be a comic artist X3

there's no one to chat with either... =[

Well, it was actually NaNoWriMo that we were talking about, but MangO is good too xD

And you'll definitely have to wait longer than half an hour for someone to reply to you in this thread. x3 If you look at the time gaps between the other posts on this page, and on the preceding pages, you'll see what I mean. We're all in different timezones so it's rare for more than one of us to be on at a time (it happens, but not often), and of course we all have real-life commitments and other things that take time away from Gaia. So just post, and wait for someone to get back to you - they will, honest. :3

It would be brilliant if you can help out with backgrounds, because as you might have seen we've only got one background artist, and she's already doing the comic art for this project, so she's got enough to do xD Let us know if you want to be sent the test for that position after you've done the Costume Designer one.

sure sure X3
i didn't see the writing one o:
i just signed myself up for the manga thinger, more for practice... *mumble mumble*
i think i'll go dig up some old project and start sketching X3

Oh hello, you're online now! ^^

Well, NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) isn't anything to do with comics, so you wouldn't expect to see a thread about it in here (it just happens that some of us comic creators are into writing as well :3), but if you venture into the Writers' Forum you'll see that it has a sticky all to itself! NaNoWriMo is the original NaNo, with things like Script Frenzy (a script-writing equivalent), NaNoMangO (which you know about) and SuWriMo (Summer Writing Month(s)) being offshoots. Not that that makes them any less cool, but... NaNoWriMo is still the coolest xD

i think i'll hone my coloring skills first before i take that test XD
i'm excited about doing the character artist one, though :3
now for sketching!! (and homework...lol >> )

Edit: i'd never heard of any of these before today ^^; they all seem interesting, though :3

Well, you don't have to be able to colour for this comic, you know :3 It's all black and white, and in any case, that is taken care of by our resident toner, Scai Rayburd (who is a very naughty boy and doesn't post in here. Do not follow his example xD)

They are! This is my first year doing NaNoWriMo, but I've already decided it is AWESOME. I've made so many new friends! And by the end of it, hopefully, I will have made a new novel, too xD

(By the way, if I don't reply for a while, it just means I've knuckled down and started writing a decent amount of my novel, so don't feel offended. I'm aiming for 5,000 words today! (It's never going to happen - I'm only up to 2,910 so far - but I can dream, right? xD)

Lol, 1249 words. Man, for some reason, I can never actually get into the social aspect of things sweatdrop

And we're online at the same time a lot, 'chanted. Or rather, I'm almost always online, lol.

xD Yes, looking back over the last page myself, I've realised that's actually true. But it doesn't always mean that replies will come immediately.

Congratulations on your wordcount! Now go enter it into the site. x3 I'm up to 3,591 words now - I think I will settle for passing 4,000 tonight, since I'm already over the minimum for today anyway.

And I was determined to get into the social aspect, because that was the whole reason that NaNoWriMo began in the first place. Chris Baty (its founder) decided to write a novel but didn't want to do it all on his lonesome, so he bullied various friends into doing it along with him xD There were a lot of frantic late-night phone calls soliciting solutions to plot holes, but I imagine the company made it a lot more fun, and a lot more bearable. I only know two people IRL who are doing NaNo (which isn't bad, considering how few writers I know IRL) so I wanted to find as many people online who were doing it so that we could encourage each other, compare wordcounts, share tips, etc. Which is exactly what we've been doing in the forum for my home region, and in our chat room. I'm hoping to meet up with a few fellow Essex NaNo-ers once we can decide on a location, and we're organising a big meet-up for everyone in the middle of the month. =D (Still need to finalise the location for that too, mind you. We've decided on the town, but where in the town is another matter).

I guess you won't be doing any of that sort of thing?

Questing yellow inks. Donate plz? :3 You know you don't want them...
(Also collecting Yellow Butterflies since they => yellow ink x3)

From NaNoWriMo to NaNoFiMo: will I make it??

Lol, no, not really. I don't have much time in between writing and college anyways.

Speaking of bullying people into this, I kind of bullied my boyfriend into it, lol. Though, I've not a clue what his word count is so far because he keeps insisting on going back to make edits.

Man, I was debating NaNoWriMo or ManGo for a while, but I settled with writing because I had a lot of points I wanted to cover, and 30 pages wouldn't be nearly enough.
