I was actually disappointed recently when I looked for Hiei/Kurama (Yu Yu Hakusho) communities on LJ and found about two, one dead and one practically-dead. I was sure there'd be loads considering that YYH is so popular, and Hiei/Kurama seems like the most obvious shounen-ai pairing. It's not canon, but since when did that stop fangirls? It seems odder when you consider that a relatively obscure manga like Katekyo Hitman Reborn! has a thriving community for the pairing Yamamoto/Gokudera (also non-canon) where at least one, often more than one, new fanfic or fanart is posted every day.

Anyway, that's why I like to read fanfic on more than one site. I actually started off reading fanfics on Quizilla, but those were all absolutely terrible. I just didn't realise it at the time x3

Oh, and LJ is great for original fiction as well. I'm going to put my novel up on there once I actually start writing it. Have you heard of the story 'Captured Prince' by freece, Emi? I think you'd like it.

You want the tenth post down, starting with the bit where the panel numbers go back to 1. xD It does indeed. And it's actually really well-written and realistically conceived, not just a run-of-the-mill slave kink story. For one thing, the enslaved prince is a real man, a very brawny muscular kind of guy at that, whilst his captor is the pretty-boy. But a very dangerous pretty-boy.

Anyway, I won't give any more away. That much is just to make sure you read it =D Have I ever mentioned aggybird to you, as well? She does some excellent stuff. Kind of crazy, about vampires and shape-shifting bird-men and Santa Claus Jr. falling in love with Jack Frost (this are all different stories, mind, although there's a slight bit of crossover with some of them), but hilarious and well-written. In fact, I think I'm going to go read her newest story now. It's a gay version of Jack and the Beanstalk. xD

I will be sure to remind you about the storyboards. When do your lessons end?

In which thread can we criticize ideas in the idea pot?

I usually abhor fanfiction (it being a lot worse usually and against the author's intention). Its highest form are comic series like Batman and parodies and in the lowest form ***** bear. rofl

For No Exit, I just had an awesome idea after reading and felt I should use it. I also will use it to advertise my original writings.

You have to have a separate thread for each idea, although we could quite easily start up an idea-related discussion in the General Chat thread if you just want to make a couple of comments rather than an in-depth critique with a view to creating a comic.

@Emi: xD Oh, is it 'frowned upon' now? And who's doing the frowning? You ought to include a warning in the first post of the Idea Pot if that's the case. It wouldn't do for any of our members to be the inadvertent recipients of Frowns.

Well, some authors (like Anne Rice) do specify that they don't want fanfiction written of their stories, but if they don't say so, then the series/book/film is fair game in my opinion. Bad fanfiction is harmless as long as no-one thinks it's the real thing, which is what disclaimers are for (and to prevent getting sued). I for one would love to have people care about my characters enough to write fanfiction of them, and I would probably read all the stories and critique them to help the writer improve.

But what makes Batman fanfiction any better than fanfiction of other fandoms? x3

I'm not quite clear on what ***** Bear is, although it sounds pretty terrible. I tried to look it up on Wiki but it appears the page has been deleted (some eight times, according to the log). Although am I right in thinking it's a 4chan thing? The horrors that come out of that website...

xD Of course. Storyboards are a priority! So what do you think about needing some sort of a break in between when Lindsay goes away and when she comes back? Do you think I ought to invent some interim action or maybe just add a panel saying 'Later...' or 'Time passes' or similar?

@Ben: Yeah, I figured that much out, I just wondered whether the bear itself had some sort of origin story. Like the ORLY? owl.

I would only say that panel 4 on page 18 is a bit, erm... featureless? xD But it'll be fine with the script to go along with it.

Oh yeah, I've also been meaning to ask you all: how long do you think we should give the people who haven't responded to the 'roll-call' before we write them off as no longer being members? That's zankaaz, Mjem, Qui_Bears 3, kittykatkay08 and Scai Rayburd. All of them have logged into Gaia within the past couple of days, except for Kay, who hasn't been on since mid-August.
