Hi everyone, first of all, i'm sorry if my english sound weird, i'm trying to not burn your eyes with my grammar / vocabulary lacks, you must know, that i just love drawing, i draw things since i was 8 year old, and keep drawing things even if i'm 28 year old now, i can't say if i ever let a day end without drawing something in my life.

Anyway, even if i'm not too bad in this, i still need improvement, i am very perfectionnist, and it's not a quality sometimes in comics / drawings because it makes you loose too much time on details, anyway, here is my Facebook comic project page :

My project is called "Arduinna's White Lion" (in english) Arduinna is a celtic godess of the forest and hunt in the locality of "Ardennes" in belgium, Arduinna -> Ardennes she gave her name to this region a very long time ago.

This project will ally mediev fantasy with dark fantasy, the "hero" is a "Tigrélion" in french or "Tigralion" maybe, in english, it's the addition of "tiger" and "lion" so, it must be something around "Tigrandlion" or "Tigralion" for this specie.

Leo Tigerheart is the main character of my comic, he his born from humans, from a nordiq father, it's linneage come from a nordiq lord, Thorodam, who once ruled over siberian territories, an ancestor from this linneage was once bittent by a siberian weretiger and this malediction / omen, was rampant in the blood of Leo's Father.

Leo's Father, Met an asian woman who was a great dancer but also a thief in a band of strolling players attaced by wolves and almost starved to death, the coincidences of this meeting wants that, this women has also a very filfy blood "infected" by a forgoten creature, Byakko, a god that turned into a demon because there were so many wars at the end of the antiquity era that no one was praising him, a god of love anymore, he turned into a demon then to survive and feed from hatred to be able to survive.

From this union, a strange creature is born from the résurgence of the two curses, making it's physical body very slightly mixed with tigranthrope and byakko's genes, but it was enough for it's father to give him it's first name when he saw it, he called it "devil's creature" and it's second name could be "abomination" because Thorodam was repeating it so many times turning around in despair in their house, he also tried to throw the child in the open fire, but his women begged to show her it's son.

when she saw it, she opened her eyes wide in fear, and tried to push away the boy, leaving the doctor with the child alone in his arms, a boy already hated by it's father and feared by it's mother...

Well, that's it for a little part of explication and story, before he gets beaten by it's father for 8 years and decide to go away, almost killed by it's father that when he tries to go, he will "eat" his father alive, the weretiger couldn't take it anymore, frustrated by Leo's will to maintain it in it's body, repeatedly used as a slave to do everything in the house, rented to some nobles that want get some exotic "pleasure" of the region, he couldn't bite it's tongue anymore.

After killing it's father, the byakko and infernal beast, the tigranthrope crawling in the deeps / limbs of his counciousness puts their claws on his memories, and block them, bit by bit, one after another, the child is chocked after understanding what he's done, and the only way to not make him commit suicide because he was too young to endure all of this, was to lock a part of it's memory, those two curses needing him to stay alive to survive.

This cursed child will return to a savage state for two or three years and reach the Arduinna's forest, almost starved to death, weak, he will be "adopted" by a very old guy.

Jean Dubois Take him in his house, this old man is retreated from chevalry and army, it's this guy who will discover The main character, Leo, the young boy almost starved to death in that snowy forest and take him home to take care of him.

Jean is the kind of guy you don't want to mess with even if he's looking old, still strong and experienced as hell, he's a racist against gobelins, orcs, and dark elves, that he often fought in it's past to defend it's homeland from continuous invasion and alliances between them, now that he's retired, he decided to live alone , deep in the forest, in an old rustic windmill that he extended to turn it into a house, with a forge in the cave.

He has a very bad temper, and when something get on it's nerves, he has famous angry quotes that coul make clint eastwood rudeness seem polite in comparison of what this old guy says when he's pissed off.

Maybe you already know it, there's allways that kind of old guy in your neighbor or familly, that is a bit angry about almost everything and has lunatic turns of moods that make it deeply touching and also funny....

It's all for now.

But, i want to know if anyone around here is interested about this story, so i can translate it for you too on the comic pages when i make the bubbles / dialogs when finishing my comic pages.

My french isn't that great, but maybe tomorrow I'll read the whole thing, after a good nights sleep, so I can translate it better in my head. I've got the gist of it for now.

Your art is definitely not bad. I think you need a bit of work with proportions, and you need to consider the anatomy a bit more. The young lion boy is far too skinny in the first panels. He'd be dead. There's absolutely no room for his organs! I don't imagine he'd be quite that muscular either, even as a lion, however it could be possible, as I haven't studied lion anatomy very much myself, especially not that of a cub. You did look into cub anatomy for his young self, correct?

If you want to translate this into English, I'd definitely consider getting someone very fluent in both French and English. Your English, while decent for someone who doesn't speak it as a first language, isn't strong enough to pass in a comic for native English readers. It's nothing to be ashamed of, I'd do the same if I wanted to translate something into French, since my french isn't very strong (I only did 3 years of french immersion).

Well, the boy was starved almost to death for months if you look at somalians or third world childs, when they have nutrition lacks, there is absolutely no rule of proportion that can come into their body, i don't know if i can post photos here, but what i'm looking for is "chocking" reality sometimes, and the fact i draw him larger shoulders and a thiner ankles / hanches / chest, has to do with it's degree of starvation.

But as a part weretiger in it's genes he will fill it's body very fast after eating flesh, drawing him this way as to do with proportions of his skeleton i studied for a long time for that slight degree of hybridation and trust me, finding the realism and good mix of bones showed through skin, isn't as easy as you might think.

Of course proportions seems strange when someone young is as starved as he is.

i'll post some exemples of "famine" to illustrate what i want to say, PLUS this character has thick bones (being half nord he has a solid constitution), and what you say is right, Jean FEAR that his stomach as begun to self digest himself while looking at his thin chest and that organs might be destroyed or unusable for feeding him, that's something i already thought and put into my comic, and it's what he thinks when he sees him throwing the milk out of his mouth while he's coughing.

Trust me i take the time to document myself pretty much when i even try to draw something like him having it's skin on his bones here's some pictures (don't look at this if you don't want to be schocked ok, i don't mean to hurt your sensivity )











i perfectly know about proportions rules, but when someone is has thin as that, there's no way you can respect clearly a line of proportions, heads seems bigger because the body is so thin that the head skull weight almost too much for their body, corpse, lenght of arms, thickness of chest etc etc, i applied them all to the bone structure of the child i drew and EVEN i have not come as far as showed in this picture and it already seem schocking to you, so, i can say it worked.

As for the english part, well, if i don't try to translate myself i don't think i'll find someone who would want to do it for "free", and i'm pretty far from rich, poor would be the word, as many artists are ^^

I really like the art. It's technically proficient, detailed, invokes an interesting and consistent atmosphere, is nicely stylized, and I can make out parts of the story fairly well, despite not understanding the text.

Makes me wish I could read French.

Thank you very much i try to input strong atmosphere coming from south part of belgium and Ardenne's Regions, i try to be as rustic ? and authentic as possible with the ambiance, i want people to feel like if they were "there" at that time, and almost feel comfortable as if they were at "home" too, my dream would be to live in a watermill in Ardenne's region just because it's so medieval looking you feel like you are in another time out of this world when you live there, i have two uncles and a grandfather living there, some of them got old medieval / 1914 / 1918 and 1940 - 1945 weaponry and armory up their attic, even old canons with boulders, it's allways amazing when i have the chance to visit them.

Oh my, those pictures are so sad. Alright, you've proven me wrong there. What you say makes a lot of sense in regards to his proportions. Also, the proportions on the old man seem off to me, although it's really not that bad. His arms and hands just seem big in comparison to the rest of his body. I do not think it's so bad that you need to go back and fix it, since I didn't even notice the first time reading through. I would just keep it in mind.

As for translating, see if you can find someone to do it for free, but don't worry if you can't. You might find a generous soul who would correct your grammar after you translate (I would for shorter projects, for example). I'm sure people would read it either way, as it is a fascinating story with great art.

I actually understood what was going on.

I can't read the cursive parts, but it's because those parts are small, not because they're not neat. That's the only thing I can say isn't good.

I really like the art. The hero really does like he's starving and the old man looks so cool, like, those old gurus from martial arts movies.

When I log in to FB again, I'll "Like" it.

Now, for some bad French...

But even if i post my work on deviantart, i hardly got 1000 views, people prefer looking at Dragon ball Z and naruto fan art, or porn, original work doesn't seem to interest anyone these days <.<

i tried to translate what's going on on the dialogs sometimes but no one answered there if they wanted me to continue or not.

however, i'm finishing a page and will start to translate with my pityfull english :p

if the hero seem "pathetic" for you, now, it's because his mind has "regressed" <- dunno if correct in english, his mind / spirit has being stuck / locked in the abyss of his own mind under the claws of the weretiger / byakko that felt it was better for him to lock / emprison him there, locking it's memory too, so he seems not responding / reacting to almost anything for now, just having basic needs and expressions, like when he saw food he jumped on it.

While the night will pass he will make a dream that will slowly turns into a nightmare, where his "inner" demon will relase, at least, it's spirit to give him the chance to live a second life / be a little boy again, the beast will be giving a chance to "Jean" to "educate" or humanize Léo and the day after he will be able to communicate properly, even if he will stay "shy" at the beggining, yeah i'm going to make the hero emotions and to have backbone / character with the situations he will meet and be confronted to, so basically, Léo will evolve from scratches.

I know and take the risk that, developping the character that long and slow will make people annoyed sometime or the story will contain too much of "poestry" at the beggining, about things of life when Jean will learn him, etc, but in the long process he will be faced to a rude / unforgiving world filled with horrible things that will slightly turn the fantasy out to be more and more dark fantasy, but i won't give every details about it because it wouldn't be worth reading or looking at it if i say everything, isn't it ? ^^"

So the hero may feel being pathetic and weak at the beginning, but we aren't born strong, we need to get a lot of things on our faces, bad or good, before we finally start to put a feet before another and take the path.

I'm not "expensive" or maybe "extraverted" ? i dont like to agitate my arms in every corner just to get visibility, i prefer to not loose too much time on this and draw :/ sometime i try to get out of my autistic creative bubble, but it's rare ^^

but if i don't try i will regret it one day ^^

i begun drawing at 7/ 8 year old because my familly was torn appart / divorced and i got a very... well... painfull childhood and my universes / characters/ world in my mind was the only place i could feel in safety, preventing me to do stupid things sometimes, i won't tell every details about it and blabla about my whole life anyway.

I too am very introverted person due to many reasons in the past, but Internet does give you a chance to grow out of it gradually. Because you have to somehow poke out of the crowd of bilions online artists. especially o site like deviantart where every d**k, Tom and Harry can upload over 9000 images in a day that have absolutely no quality or content, giving no chance for new artists that actually put effort in work to be seen.
Or maybe switch to some other art community. I can't really reccomend you any though, I am a hobbyist with not enough confidence to post in conceptart.org, but I am surre some people around these realms can.

it's still under work, almost every 2 / 3 day i add a new comic page, and the actual page may change sometimes because i modify them and upload them again too, anyway, if you just want to help a new artist, it would be very much appreciated.
