Introduction

This is a collaborative fiction, which is being written using characters that have been submitted to me. It is a present to the =WORD GAMES= forum. The actual story will be posted in installments in this thread. If it is in the wrong place, I apologize. Comments on the story can be posted in my other thread,=WG MEETS=

Medical Specialist on board whatever ship/crew you prefer in your story: Sugar started out as a discovered stowaway upon a rather important ship that happened to be passing through a planet's pit stop when 'she' ran away from home. She'd been working for a mechanic for some time under the guise of a woman for some time now--(it made being hired and undiscovered easier surprisingly) but when she had the chance to hide on a ship to get around she went for it. The crew discovered her and threatened to put her off on the next planet, but in a crisis her medical skills were revealed and she eventually became part of the crew. No one knows Sugar's home planet or why she rarely speaks about it, but she can't be human, not with her healing 'abilities which seem a bit more 'magical' than just good medicine...

Commander Klatap

He gave himself the "commander" title obviously, as his ship is little more than an escape pod with thrusters.

He's kind of the laughing stock of the entire pirate . . . circle . . . you know that thing pirates do when they meet up together and form some kind of alliance. Not that that lasts long. Pretty soon you've got another with a lightsabre in his a** and then the whole thing goes up in flames. Or down in crumpled metal. Whatever ships do to destroy themselves in the inky blackness of space.

Anyway, moving on.

What he isn't is stupid. The whole thing act is a ruse to throw off his competition, apart from being totally fabulous and sexy of course. Some people just have problems hiding that. His higher-than-average IQ tends to get him in more trouble than he wants though, as while he's got the thinking skills, he sometimes lacks the common sense to pull up in a nosedive.

Majikina:

Name: Maji Shepard
Maji Shepard was born and raised on a small human colony far from Earth but joined the intergalactic military due to the impoverished conditions of her home world. After a tour of duty she returned to her homeworld to find her village abandoned, raided by slavers. She rejoined her fleet, determined to stop similar injustice happen to anybody else. That passion - and her above adequate combat skills - drew the notice of high ranking officers, who entered her in a special training program and turned her into a one-woman intergalactic police force. However, after encountering a group of slavers she acted "outside of protocol" which ultimately ended up in her rank being stripped from her. Dissatisfied by the chain of command, she left the military to become a bounty hunter.

Despite her past, Shepard (as she liked to be called by her last name) is optimistic and friendly, but becomes deadly serious when tasked with a mission or faced with injustice. She's always thinking about the next mission, but when she's relaxed she can be calm and collected, and even a little flirty sometimes. She prefers to work alone but she doesn't avoid the company of others. She has a bad habit of "going by her gut" instead of walking the most logical path sometimes.

-Has been arrested four times and sent to a maximum security holding facility, and escaped each time in different ways.

-Sorts women into three groups: women I've slept with, women I haven't slept with yet, and women I won't sleep with because they are relatives.
-Has a soft spot for adorable things that can't protect themselves.

Bio: He came from a planet that appears every couple of hundred thousand of years between Earth and Mars, It's inhabited by things like vampires, demons, fairies and all the other mythical creatures. They've been using earth as a sort of jail, they remove their memories before sending their prisoner down to earth. Lloyd is one of them, he was sent down at around the Third World War ( or Second if the Third never happened... yet ) but unlike most of other previous prisoners, he retained some of his memories. He's been hidden away in a secret government lab until the day he was ordered to join a space voyage. The planet he was from is still unidentified, but was confirmed by Lloyd to be the main source of earth's supernatural creature.

Name: Kade Kairo

Occupation: Slave trader


Kade was born on a planet covered almost entirely by water. The humans who lived on the planet, lived on reletively on small scattered islands. The way to travel anywhere was by boat or ship. Kade grew up in a family that made it's living by pillaging these ships and selling the goods to traders.
The pirate business was so successful in fact the family decided to expand off planet. This time not selling stolen loot, but stolen humans, captured as slaves for large minning operations.
Kade, was put in charge of this operation. Her and her band of raiders will land on a planet and steal entire villages, men, women, and children to take to the large slave bazaars on the fringe planets. They will even occasionally steal entire ship crews to sell to the slavers. Her ship is old, but in good working order. Very inconspicuous, it's one of the reason she always manages to sneak by the authorities. Her crew is one of the most wanted in the galaxy.
Kade herself is ruthless, but not completely without a heart. She lives for the thrill of the hunt, and is generally respected by her crew. Her biggest flaw is her arrogance.
She's also missing her right eye. Won't tell anyone how it happened though. That eye has been replaced with a sinister lazor.

- DAT WATCH is super duper important to him in his boring canon because his father gave it to him when he was younger, and he kind of sort of got separated from the guy when he was 6. Yeah.

- TECHNICALLY he's 140 years old, and the above mentioned 6 was actually 62. He's part of a race that takes ten times longer to age than hyumans, but feel free to just go with 14 to save yourself the trouble of explaining that. lol

- ALSO HE LIKES TO READ. My current avatar obviously doesn't make this obvious, which why I put this here. Actually I put this here to go on to explain that he really only reads fiction. Children's stories, really. Again, feel free to alter that or whatever. Yeah.

- OH. I guess I kind of lied when I said I was gonna let you interpret that above quote, but the "does afraid of anything" part is pretty legit. However, there are things that frighten him a lot more than everything else, so here's a kind of in order from greatest to least list of those scarier things.
Violence/angry people/loud noises in general(but especially yelling) > Wimminz > being FOREVER ALONE > Medical Science-y things(especially medicine itself)
There's probably something else I'm forgetting about. Oh well.
Oh, and he's not consciously aware of his fear of women either. It's just kind of something that's there. I mean, there are reasons, but I'd rather not put too many limitations here.

- Oh. Physically he looks a lot younger than 14, because the puberty fairy decided he wasn't worthy of its blessing, or whatever. He's often mistaken for any age between 4 and 10. It's lulzy.

- Oh, and while I haven't decided on an exact height for him yet, I like to imagine he's somewhere around 4 feet. Yeah. He's also underweight. MAINLY because he tends to either avoid eating, or just forgets about it completely. But also because he has a very weak stomach, so he vomits if he eats too much. Which is why he avoids eating actually.

- Socially awkward. This goes without saying, but I'm saying it anyway. Actually, one could argue it's more a social phobia. Actually, it is a social phobia. But whatever.

- Also, he's color blind. Like, completely color blind. WAT R COLORS?

- OH AND I SWEAR THIS IS THE LAST THING AND IF IT'S NOT YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO SLAP ME NEXT TIME WE HAVE AN IRL MEET.
I MEAN, If it also wasn't obvious enough, he's a pretty sickly thing. Gets sick very easily, and pretty often. Also, just because I don't really want to be slapped, I'm including this unrelated thing here, I MEAN THE FACT THAT HE'S A VERY HEAVY SLEEPER AND CAN'T REALLY BE AWAKENED BY ANYTHING IS TOTALLY RELEVANT HERE.

Bio:
-The main intelligence on a space craft, program for everything from navigation to system file storage.
- Virtual character, no physical form. Seen through a hologram projector or computer screen. Voice heard from PA. Microphones across the entire ship act as her ears. Cameras are her eyes so she can see everything in the ship.
- Hologram Projector Located in Navigation Room. Hologram Projector simulates a virtual body so she can see and hear and look around the room in all directions. without cameras or mics.
- High amounts of intelligence due to programming, However childish due to her short amount of time used since her creation.
-Very sarcastic due to a code mishap.
- Wishes to have a real body to explore the world outside the craft.
- Occasional bugs causes malfunctions such as mood swings and memory loss

Fictus Vitae
Frederic "Fictus" T. Usher



A rather unkempt man, Fictus spends most of his time tinkering with bizarre devices from a dufflebag he carries almost all of the time. Some say the bag contains the answer to every mystery of life. Others say it kind of smells like old coffee. The man himself is quite... quirky. It's rather hard to know when he's being serious, despite having maintaining a stoic tone. For instance, when asked how he can afford to not hold any serious job, he would answer that in his tireless quest to discover a cheap, self-replenishing energy source, he accidentally invented an advanced collar capable of giving an animal speech abilities and he has been coasting on that invention for the last five years (in this case, he is serious).

Having long since decided that filling out forms is a waste of time, he has been hitchhiking through space for years, repairing machinery in exchange for letting him stay on board.

The reason for Fictus's nickname is that when he received his -insert relevant term here- license, Frederic was misspelled as Fredefic (resulting in Fredefic T. Usher). Soon later, after accidentally getting oil on said license, he showed it to someone else. With part of the license obscured by oil, they saw his name printed as "fic T. Us", and he's been going by Fictus ever since.

Schrodinger the cat

Fictus's only companion, Schrodinger is a cat that has been hanging around with Fictus for five years after helping him market the talking collars. Oddly enough, with the sole exception of mechanical and technological knowledge, Schrodinger is smarter than Fictus in just about every way. The only reason he sticks with Fictus while he hitchhikes through space is because, well, he's a cat and he can't really force Fictus to fill out paperwork. Plus Fictus bakes a mean tuna casserole.

As for why Fictus lets the cat follow him everywhere, it's more or less because people are so intrigued by this well-mannered feline that they usually leave Fictus alone while they talk to Schrodinger.

(Note: That isn't a gun Fictus is carrying. It's a multi-tool that he modified to look like a gun for the purpose of scaring away occasional thugs.)

Profession: (Unlicensed) Corporate Infiltrator, (Unlicensed) Bounty Hunter, (Unlicensed) Vigilante,
Bio: Growing up without any knowledge about his parents, his earliest memories are being raised by a group of thieves on earth, excelling in learning necessary skills for survival almost instinctively. At age fourteen, during a moment of panic (that wont be mentioned for now), he discovered he had the ability to create and manipulate electricity through physical contact. After leaving earth and his family of orphans by means of stowaway, hes managed grow up traveling through the galaxy alone doing odd jobs, stealing/capturing from criminals and such. During his travels, hes slowly learned of clues from his past revolving around his parents. So far, hes only managed to find what is believed to be a corrupted video feed of his parents and a weapon that once belonged to his mother. Clearly, They weren't your average parents, and by searching his past, he may be able to learn more about his strange talents.

Designation: Autonomous Maintenance and Reconnaissance Unit: Number 237 of 500. Most people find that a bit of a mouthful so he's learned to respond to AMaRU. AMaRU and his "siblings" were designed to make deep space repairs to any satellite that needed it. They've also been used to clean up toxic contamination on outposts; as advance teams to terraform planetoids for future colonists; for High-risk retrieval missions; as miners; etc.. Pretty much any job not human in their right mind would take they've been given. They dutifully (if not happily) comply to each assignment.
A little while ago AMaRU started showing signs of sentience. He and he alone would ask for clarification on commands. He also started asking a lot of questions in general, of everyone he met. He started referring to himself as "I" and his siblings as "he" or "them." The phenomenon so far has not spread to the other units but as a precaution the engineers removed him from active duty.
Amaru has since shown interest in the human ways of life. He finds humans both puzzling and admirable. Emotions especially evade him. He hopes to one day fully understand the nuances of the human experience but fears that as long as emotions remain foreign to him he can never truly understand human reasoning.

Facts:
~He was programmed to fix problems. As such Amaru is "happiest" when fulfilling his directive. He seems to enjoy solving puzzles. The more complex the better.
~He tries to befriend everyone he meets. He still has trouble noticing whether or not people are open to reciprocation.
~He tries to make jokes. Needless to say they never really go over well.
~As he himself is essentially a sentient computer he expects all other computers and robots he meets to be sentient as well and is a bit baffled when he realizes that they aren't.

Atittutude: She has a bad one
Character Flaw: She'll kill/ capture anyone for enough money.
Weakness: Children - she lost one, a little girl, name of Janet. She won't harm a child of any species, and will hurt anyone who does.
Human (just in case that needed to be clarified)
Nickname: Evan - People hear about a lethal bounty hunter named Evan Scarlett and think of a man. She enjoys the looks on people's faces when they realize she's a woman.
Janet - Janet was born when Evan was 22. Her father was human and not in the picture. Just before her first birthday, Janet was diagnosed with a rare futuristic/ non - Terrestrial disease. She died about a year afterwards. She was a few months shy of two years old.
Aftermath of Janet: Evan suffered severe depression for six months post Janet's death. Evan blamed herself; the only way baby Janet could have contracted the disease was through Evan - Evan brought the virus into her own body when she had been on its native planet. The disease was rare because most people are genetically immune to it but Janet's father was a rare non-carrier of the immunity gene and Janet got unlucky. Evan didn't get sick, but she passed it on to Janet. After a suicide attempt, Evan was locked up in a psych facility for another six months. Recovered, but with a hardened heart, she returned to her life altered. Having been discharged from the Armed Forces, she became a bounty hunter. She was 25.
Love Life: She's got a "friend with benefits" at every port. She's very careful about not getting pregnant to the point of obsession. She's not very particular about species as long as it looks and acts like a human male and is good looking enough.
Past with the Armed Forces: She was a liuetenent in Earth's Galactic Air Force. She was a pilot. It was where she met Janet's father, raised Janet until her death. Upon Janet's death, Evan's commander gave her a leave of three months. Evan returned after that, but was not over her depression. After being depressed in the Air Force for another three months, she attempted suicide. She was promptly discharged and sent to the Priority Happy Interplanetary Home for the Suicidal for six months.
Time in Priority Happy: While there she met Polyspecies psychiatrist Dr. Kenneth Grant. They had a brief, secret affair that ended badly a few days before she was released from the facility. He had been her doctor, and that was why they had had to keep their relationship a secret. A few days before her scheduled release, he told her that after she left they could not keep up their relationship because people would suspect that he had also had a relationship with her while she was hiis patient and his liscence would be revoked. She had loved him.
As A Bounty Hunter: She's damned good, and ruthless.

The ship's resident weirdo. Only speaks Korean, not very communicative. She just turned up one day in the middle of a flight, and she's only kept around because she's good with the machines and heavy artillery.
...Not that she does her job very often.

• Usually found playing her violin in places like inside the air ducts and outside the windows of the ship.
• Draws hundreds of stars and indecipherable poetry on the walls, but is never caught doing it.
• Never wears less than 4 different colors at a time.
• Can be spotted crouching in a corner or sitting on top of machinery, but turns up 30 seconds later on the opposite side of the ship. Probably knows the ship better than anyone else.
• She's been overheard calling the fish Bae. It usually goes wherever she does, but once in a while it's seen on its own, possibly collecting information.
• Once saved the ship from utter calamity with three straws, a handful of wires and a toothpick.
• Another time she disappeared for five weeks, and then showed up in the engine room like nothing happened, eating cheese on toast.

Bio: Endrea is a very shy person. She can take comand of things when necessary but prefers to stay quite in most circumstances. If you ever see her around you'll notice she always has a book in hand that matches the current situation in one way or another. Shes a reasercher, makes sure that the crew has up to date information at all times. Her skills are maily used durring explorations and encounters. Shes not only shy but akward in a way too. Shes kind of a klutz, drops things a lot and has a terrible habbit of falling.

A rash, young, gung-ho rookie intergalatic hovercycle racer named Terran Hikar, who comes from a long lineage of Guardians-- and thus, is one in training. He tends to act without thinking, which gets him into a lot of trouble, but he's brave and got a good heart. His father was a general, believe it or not.

Noctem was born in a high-media driven, multi-species society, in upper sector 10. She enrolled in an intergalactic media class at the age of 17, and it all went from there. She became one of the youngest reporters involved in the High Space Scandal that rocked the galaxy. While still considered a novice, she is quickly climbing up the ranks due to her determination to take any and every job, and her ability to cause her reportee's to open up and reveal more than they intended to. She keeps her recording bird, and notebook, which doubles as a shield, practically everywhere she goes.

Name: Genevieve Lillian "Gigi" Arnette
Age: 24
Race: Human
Occupation: Private Detective
Depite her looks, Gigi is very moral and good, but she is tough. She has no tolerence for "low-lifes" and she has a very clear definition of who falls into that catergory. Most of her work is consulting with the Interplanetary police force. She is very good, although she derives no pleasure from it. She is in love with a half alien - half human, Jaxon Harte, and is in a steady relationship with him. They want to get married, and actively support the Inter-Species Marriage Bill. They live together in a small suburban apartment.
Gigi grew up with a normal family, a mother, a father and a sister, Suzanne. When she was 11 and Suzanne was 9, Suzanne was kidnapped. The case was quickly shut by the police, who were dealing with a vicious alien serial killer at the time. Gigi's parents hired a young private detective, Lance Scott, to find their younger daughter. Gigi came to idolize Lance and that's why she decided to become a private detective. After two years of searching, Lance found Suzanne's remains. By then he was close with the family and he helped them recover. They never found who killed Suzanne, not for a lack of trying.
As she got older, Gigi grew infatuated with Lance who stayed in touch with the Arnettes. When she was 17, she told him, and tried to force herself on him. He was 27. He told her it was inappropriate and cut off all ties to the Arnettes.
It is Gigi's objective in life to find out what happened to Suzanne.
Gigi doesn't want children, because she despises the state of the world and of humanity and doesn't want to bring a child into what she she believes is tainted. She is very naive in that she believes that the bad parts of the human race can be neatly edited out while the good triumphs. Jaxon, however wants children, and believes that Gigi would make an excellent mother. It is their one argumeent, but they have it repeatedly.
She can be very coy when it comes to getting what she wants. She frequently takes advantage of her appearence to coax people into doing things. She loves playing mysterious and sexy, although she can;t put her finger on why. In actuality, it is the darkness of her past inside her fighting to get out, and in a way, she wants that.
Occasionally, when she is really stressed or upset, she will lash out. She does have that concealed darker nature that she unconsiously supresses. It makes her a danger to others and herself, though no one realizes.

Note: I'll be holding auditions for a few key characters that were kind of missed because so many people wanted to be bounty hunters XD Anyway, same thing as above: Send me a character profile (with a tektek) via PM if you're interested in auditioning. The only difference is that one of you will get a spot as that character. You can audition for the same character twice (as in, you may edit the character you submit once), or until I close auditions. Here's a list of who I need:
