Well If I got to pick, I would be a girl president thats like my norm

Ithought of a hitch to each of us having individual characters
We'll only be writing 500 words at a time
not quite enough time to really work out don't you think?
unless you're willing to let someone else write for your character

Well okay a book is most of the time over 100,000 words, so if you think with 500 words we could easily get our character out there, but of course we could collaborate with other writers when our characters meet paths.

Edit: It wouldn't really be that hard anyway to write as different people cause all you would have to do is when two characters cross paths just ask the owner of that character what he would do.
Example. Lets say you came acrross my character and asked her/him a question you would turn to myself and ask what would she say to that? and I would tell you and etc.

you mean like, the president of the US?
because I'm not sure the president would have the freedom to go to another planet, unless she's already left office

Anyway I'm sure the USA wouldn't even exist in this time, it would probably either have changed the name or got taken over or blown away or something...

in that case, what nationality should we make the majority of the crew?
I think we should keep it a real melting pot because I'm sure a ship like this would want racial diversity

Big Huge Military Fighting Ship
Presidents Ship
Bio Dome Ship with several different domes for different environments and food is grown here
Fuel Ship - to make or recycle the fuel they use
Passenger ships - These would have peopl on them by religion and such maybe race.
Cargo ships - sorted by what they are carrying probably.

Well there would be smaller ships that could board the bigger ones and travel inbetween them??

I think the ships could connect and break apart quite easily. I imagined them to be sort of gear shaped, so they could mesh if needed.

Also, I like the idea of having us use this setting and writing about it using different characters. Maybe that could be another collaborative. wink

I understand. Though--my degree IS Bachelor of Sciences.. ((or will be, in 3 years when I graduate...)) Sci-fi isn't really something I've written a lot about. I'm willing to give it a shot though, because this sounds like fun. n.n

maybe you can try to bring fantasy elements into it?
like maybe there could be this fantasy style simulation game that the characters can play and your character can be someone who spends most of her time there
