okay I'm going to throw out a few plot ideas for discussion

If we want to go the route of the Sci-Fi, Here's an idea
From what I've heard, scientists have discovered a planet that could be terraformed, but it would take around forty years to get there. So if we want to work with that, we could go two ways: ten year old astronauts, or families sent to space. Both plotlines would require a spaceship that doubles as a bio dome.
Any thoughts on this plot?

That sounds interesting! (If I don't respond right away, it's because I am at the beginning of the flu along with my mother's head cold.)

Or we could do that thing that it's like frozen sleeping, where you don't age and sleep for the entire trip? I've seen that happen on several tv shows.

well we could do that, but hasn't that been done before?
I'm thinking that if we go with this it should be less about the destination and more about the journey
and, if we do that + the teenage astronaut idea, we'd be hitting three genres simultaniously

Teenage astronauts wouldn't really happen..... I like the ship just goes faster then light so we can cover more distants faster and kids could be on the ship and that would cover all three..

okay, so say we go with the family idea, rather than the teenage one
I've got tis ultra cool little book that talks about all the stuff we can expect 50-100 years from now
it talks about everything from color changing soda to what kind of space ships we might have

If I recall correctly, it's called Freaky Future
I found it at Barnes and Noble for around seven bucks!
Now if I can just FIND where I PUT it! sweatdrop

Like we could have a normal kid, a president, army general, and etc. etc.

If we're to go with the spaceship idea, what kind of people would be in it?
Military certainly, also scientists, but who else?
farmers comes to my mind, also journalists

Also, I thought of a hitch in the different perspective for every writer idea
since we'll each only be writing 500 words at a time, that would limit the character's developement.
unless the writer agrees to let someone else write using there character a little bit

Well Their would be Military, Mechanics, Engineers, Journalist, Scientist, Farmers, Lawyers, Teachers, Kids, really a little bit of everything.
Well there would also be several different ships not just one, there would be the main huge military ship and the like Aerospace 1 for the president, a biodome sort of ship to grow food, and to bring plants. There would also need to be a fuel refining ship to make gas once they got to that planet...... and several passenger ships. And a couple cargo ships
