Here are a number of famous waltzes by Johann Strauss II and Piotr Ilich Tchaikovsky all packed together in a package for you. I'm sorry that the pieces aren't played in full length though. crying It was the idea of the person who posted it on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJNcomorvjg

This guy's recorded a bunch of Strauss and Lehar on a grand piano. Definetly worth taking a gander at!

I'm a fan of Schumann's waltzes.

I'll find something witty to post here. Just wait.

I mentioned in the trivia thread the "Schrammel quartet," the characteristic folk ensemble of old Vienna. They did oodles and oodles of Waltzes:

I could only find a 2/4 march on the internet, sadly! I'd post some from my own CD collection, but I don't want the copyright people kicking my door down... emo

I love them. Just a b***h to find on Lim...I mean iTunes.. xd

In my orchestra we did 3 Strauss pieces a couple shows ago. The people loved them, Its was the Kaiser Waltz (Emperors waltz), The other two were polkas though, But everyone seemed to favor the waltz over the 2 polkas. The 2 polkas we did were Tritch-Tratsch Polka and Thunder and Lightning Polka. Numerous people said during the Kaiser they just laid back and closed thier eyes and truly enjoyed it.

The Emperor's Waltz is just so darn popular, everyone loves it.

Roses from the South is my favourite Strauss Waltz, but Thunder and Lightning is a fantastic polka (it was in the trailer for a movie about surfing penguins they did last summer, I remember that... mrgreen ).
