I had the wonderful opportunity to sing his Dona Nobis Pacem this summer at Tanglewood with full orchestra. I have never seen that many choristers so close to tears on stage. Especially not in Ozawa Hall or The Shed. What do people think of his music? Favorite pieces or art songs of his? Which contemporaries do you like? What do you think of Gerald Finzi? Let's hear it!

i'm currently learing his entire "songs of travel" cycle... its got some nice stuff in it

i didnt know he wrote lyrical songs
i just know of Seasons.... Fantasia on Greensleeves
Folk Song Suite
Oboe Concerto
and some others i cant think of
"Dona nobis pacem" is beautiful. The Lark Ascending is a beautiful piece also. He's a pretty religious composer.
