hi if ur in a jazz band how did u get in and what insterment do u play? i play da flute (ik its not a commin jazz insterment but since my music teacher iz so aweosme she let flutes in searously theres 5 of us biggrin )

I played bari sax, bass trombone, bari sax again and then alto for my four years of high school. It wasn't an audition group or anything; I graduated from a school with a tiny band program...

But jazz flute is great. It's even better if you can play flute, clarinet, and saxophone, 'cause that opens up a ton of neat jazz repertoire that you don't get for one instrument.

mostly skills that we dont even know yet(i wanz tryin 2 spell somthin eals other than skills but im really bad at english sweatdrop ).... also ever now and again on the history of jazz music, diffrent simbles in the music, counting, blah blah blah.... do u get the idea?

Sup! I play guitar in my jazz band, but I often end up playing other instruments when needed (trumpets, bari sax, etc). I originally got in due to the fact that i was actually interested but now i can play some kick a** chord changes. Love playing things like Gordon GOodwin's Jazz Police

cool were playin jazz police right now but its no where near ready xP... oh and last year there waz this kid that bari sax and the instrument waz bigger than he waz o.o"

Flute calerinet and saxophone (tenor)
its mostly tenor in jazz band...but sometimes I can play the other 2.

i was told by my wind ensomble director to try out, also i play bass guitar and upright bass, i have been playing for almost 4 years how and i have a talkbox that i like to mess around with and use it to play owl city who i just saw in concert 2 nights ago, owl city ftw
