Mahler's 4th is probably one of the lighter toned symphonies. The 5th and 6th are much heavier though.

The 3rd and 7th are very dang long though. 7th almost takes up two complete CD's.

The 9th is very mysterious and there are some particularly gorgeous horn passages in it that everyone who likes Mahler should experience.
