What would red look like? Black would be what I would have thought too, but it might be too much and would blend in too much and wouldn't look like skulls anymore since you're mostly black and purple. Maybe a dark Gray even? The white just kills it for me, it sticks out like a sore thumb. But it there is a reason she said to leave it white, maybe because of the redemtion thing, then just leave it.
