Welcome to Writers EI, also known as EA. For those who are on gaia (which is anyone reading this) you'll know an EI is an evolving item. Well, now with a new concept. An evolving avi. What happens is that each week, there will be a new avi, and a new part to the story. Because with EA, you can't own the thing yourself. So, what the main part of the EA will be is the story of it. There will be a new part each week, following the evolution of the avi. There will also be an item list so you too can have the "look" of the main character in the story.
Side note: Don't burn this thread, this is a new idea for me, so it will be a little crappy in the beginning. Once it's been fine-tuned, everything will be running smoothly.
Mei Ling had lost her way. She did not care about her heritage, which, after about 2 years, had been forgotten. Now, she was a tough girl, living on the streets by day and with her strict Japanese family by night. Leather was her main clothing choice, the black leather jacket a gift from her boyfriend. Her brown hair was cut short, and her eyes were a golden yellow. Something she was never sure as to why she had them. Guessed it was just a birth defect. Mei Ling was part of the off crowd… Until one day, her mother sat her down and began to tell her about her family’s history….
Mei Ling’s mother started on her long tale. “Long ago in our family, around the 50’s, we had a famous Enka singer in our family. Her name was Hananosuke. She was beautiful, and like you, had beautiful yellow eyes. All through-out her village, she was also known as the kindest woman there. Always willing to open her house to anyone in need, and also looking after anyone in pain or in desperate need of help. ” Mei Ling sat there, stunned. Someone else had the same eye color as her? Mei Ling crept forward in her seat. “Anyway, as chance would have it, she managed to get a husband. But… Tragedy befell her. On the night of her wedding, she fell ill. Doctors didn’t know what was wrong. But, apparently it was a stroke. How it was caused though was unknown.” Her mother paused. “Ah, but, she did pass away a few weeks later. Her heart deteriorated.” Suddenly Mei Ling burst from her chair. “T-that couldn’t of happened to her!! If there was no cause… ” Her tough girl attitude had slipped away for a moment, revealing something sensitive about her. “Unfortunately she did. But, more in our family’s history might let more things come to light.” Her mother’s brown hair tumbled down to her elbows, framing her face. Mei Ling blinked. When did hazel look so golden in the light? Blinking, she looked again. The illusion was lost. A sing-song voice floated through the air, wrapping itself around Mei. “Shall we move onto the next part of our family history?”
Mei’s mother got off her chair, then moved into the kitchen, coming back a few minutes later with herbal tea for the both of them. “Now, onto the next notable family member.” Her mother’s long fingers wrapped themselves around the blue coffee mug in her hands. “Now, your great great great grandmother was a healer a long time ago, when dragons and oni still walked the world.” A slight pause. Then she started to talk again. “Your three times great grandmother was a healer of her village. It was said that her tears could heal anyone, from any injury. Of course, people were jealous of her power… Many people attempted to kill her, the one the village people called the ‘healer maiden’. But, eventually, they succeeded. She died of… A heart attack.” Mei Ling’s eyes widened. “A heart attack? Again??? Does this family have a history of heart attacks or somethin’???” Calmly, her mother responded with a yes. “But, listen to my story, and you will know why. Give me time, and I will give you the answers you seek.” Mei Ling didn’t want to wait. But, she would, all be it reluctant. “Anyway, she was such a lovely woman, with… Golden eyes. Like liquid gold. Most of our ancestors who have been a major part of history have had yellow or golden eyes.” Sipping her tea, she leant back in her seat. “Now, the next ancestor.”
