Ah, My Mom is agnostic. At least I think.. She really doesn't care as long as she gets to make fun of me every now and then. But when something goes wrong it's, "Shelby! Your witchcraft ruined the damned cake!" or "Don't go in that Devil room".. Which is oddly always my room. >.>

But I do a lot of crystal work and often use crystals to enhance my spell/ritual.

Eh, Diabetes isn't bad. xD People deal with worse things in life the just a silly thing like that. Infact my little brother has had it since he was 8. I've only had since I was 16. My life realy isn't any different and I hardly notice it at times.

"Don't go in that Devil room"? and it's yours? where else are you supposed to go?xD What kind of crystal do you like working with the most? and could you possible give me a few pointers? I'm trying to get into crystal work. =3

I've had alter after alter destroyed and tools missing. Tarot cards thrown all over the damned place and alter peices shattered..

My mom, sadly, understands tarot decks. so my first two weren't tossed, she just took about ten to twenty cards out of the deck, making them virtually useless. crying but she hasn't gotten a hold of my current deck, and she never will. ninja

And I'm there with ya. I made my pentacle out of wood, but it was modelled after a type in a local shop. But I'm getting a hold of some polymer clay and silver wire to offically make my own. =3

Artistic, I can offer a little insight about crystals, having worked with them. I've had some great luck with a wire-wrapped amethyst as a pendulum. Very responsive and accurate. I also keep a small clear quartz single-point in my pocket as a sort of all-purpose crystal and energy 'battery'. When I'm feeling really tapped out, I just meditate with it in hand for a few minutes, and start to feel some of the old willpower coming back. I don't carry rose quartz any more, though...something about it just makes me too over-sensitive emotionally. I take things more personally than I should with that close by.

I also know that Esoteric never denied any of your claims, never attempted to contest any of your claims, and never even said that you were wrong. The only response you got whenever you tried to explain Wicca was "I know what Wicca is".

Lol, She was refering to other people D: Gods forbid anyone retreat to my living space. Dx

But, I have a wide selection of crystals. It really just depends on what I need done as to which is my favorite. I guess I really love my jade ring the most. When I first wore it, it opened up my heart beyond any stone! I was filled with this over whelming sense of love that I had to take it off before I cried in the store. xD

The one thing you need to remember is that everyone is wired differently. Where one stone can feel awesome to me, it may feel a bit different to you. Quartz will be your best friend. It comes in so many forms! Theres Self-healed, Spirit, Laser-wands, Lemurian-seed, Record-keeper, Abundance, Cathedral, Channeling, Soul-mate,Generators,Phantom, Manifestation, Elestial, Double-terminated and Rutilated clear quartz. I promise you, there are so many formations of clear quartz that you will learn to adore! There also stones that will be stronger then the others and will pack a way bigger punch then the rest, spirits are sometimes attracted to them.. So you have to keep them safe. You will also otice that certain stones will come into your life when needed or you will fel drawn to certian ones without knowing why.. If you have any specific questions, Feel free to ask me anything. I am always up for a crystal talk!!

*Shrugs* When I get back home, I plan on trying to do a spell for protection for my room. And I'm talking some major protection. xD But after the sabbat comming up, of course. I still don't know what I'm doing for that day. But I already have my adventurine purified and ready for some celebration!

Awe. You know.. you can always use the left over decks in tarot magic. I;ve never preformed a spell with tarot cards.. But I've heard of it being done before. ;D Maybe you should look into that.

Go alot of pages back. That's not all I said. You take everything out of context. Not that that is important. Yes it is true. I thought only Pagans didn't have to be witches... Historically that is true. The word isn't derogatory toward witches, because that is what Wicca/Wicce means...But that is barely half of what I said.

Arguably, it is true, in the same way that, arguably, someone who wants to bless someone is trying to sprinkle them with blood.

I came across a book the other day called "Witchdom of the True" written by a fellow named Edred (not Thorson). In his introduction, he said "I know a lot of the Folk will cry out when I say I am writing a book about wicca. But I am simply writing about witchcraft in the Northern religion." He then complained that the Wiccans totally appropriated the word "wicca" from the Saxons.

Fair enough, I think. Gardner took a word that was Old English for "witch" and made it mean what he wanted it to. Theoretically, then - and if I recall it has been mentioned in M&R - a witch practising within an Anglo-Saxon tradition could call themselves wicce or wicca.

Worth noting, however: it's spelt the same as the modern religion, but not pronounced the same.

What this leaves us with, though, is whether Gardner misappropriated the word himself. Edred seemed quite put out about it.
