You can become wiccan as a solitary practicer.

No you can't. The rites and rituals of Wicca don't work that way. The rites and rituals must be performed a specific way. That means you must be in a coven. Otherwise the rites are with out context and cease to be Wiccan. While some rites have been published (The Gardenariean BOS for example), with out proper training and context the rites are meaningless and not effective.

I myself have done so, I contacted some covens and read quite a bit of stuff before actually becoming wiccan.

Then you are not Wiccan. If you were Wiccan you'd be able to tell me the names of the Lord and Lady.

1st) Through a coven

Which in order to be Wiccan must trace it's linneage back to Gerald Gardner. If the training does not go back to Gerald Gardner then you are not Wiccan and the coven is not Wiccan. Also note that covens aren't specific to Wicca. Coven is a group of witches, or a group that worships and practices together. Wiccan covens are linneage based.

Wiccan is just a stupid thing to be in regardless.

I fail to see how dedicating and becoming a priest of the Lord and Lady of the Isles is a stupid thing. One is called to be Wiccan. Would you consider some one in the clergy of any other religion a stupid decision?

But AT LEAST wait until your 18, because while your a teenager, being Wiccan is just how you fit in with all the other angst kids.

You can't be Wiccan till your 18 any way due to the sexual nature of the rites and rituals.

A lot of the 'wicca' stuff is related to teens and kids because they want to act out on their parents and such,

I will admit that I started my pagan studies as a Teen, but it was with the approval of my mother. I started as a teen because I was looking for answers that the Church just didn't have.

Cunningham was Wiccan. However he only reached his first degree of iniation. As such he did not get to experience all the mysteries and practices of Wicca. He was unqualified to teach let alone write a book on the subject. His book is a great book for eclectics, but it is not and never will be Wicca proper. The religion he describes is most aptly called neo-wicca.

wicca is a specific religion, kinda like christianity, or islam.

you cannot really be a solo practioner in wicca,you have to belong to a coven, you can be a pagan and a solo practioner, but not in wicca.

to use a parallel to judism, you cannot just read up on it and declair your self to be jewish, there is a whole procces.

though I wonder if anyone has set up a virtiual coven, through the net , for people who do not live near to others

Actually it does. Upon initiation Wiccans swear an oath to uphold and defend the rites, rituals, and practices of Wicca. Thus when some one who is uninitiated calls them selves Wiccan they are bound by their oaths to explain to them why they are not Wiccan.

It still changes nothing. The Wiccan is still the same person and the 'Wiccan' is still the same person. Also, having to defend a label is a pretty dumb oath.

Think of it this way, unless some one has gone through the proper training (PHD or MD) you wouldn't want them to be called a DR would you? Wiccans view the oath and title of Wiccan the same way. That and initiation does cause changes in your life.

Think of it this way, unless some one has gone through the proper training (PHD or MD) you wouldn't want them to be called a DR would you?

I don't care, because when hospitals hire doctors they make sure that they have the proper training. If someone says 'I'm a doctor' I don't ask them to diagnose me, I go to a hospital for that. Also, I don't care about people with PHDs. I don't trust what people with PHDs have to say simply because they have PHDs. I trust source information, and even that, hardly.
