Because by definition a marriage is the union between a man and a woman. If they change the definition of this word, what other words will they change next? Communication will break down and everything becomes ambiguous. Look at the Tower of Babel. They couldn't communicate with each other and an entire nation of people was scattered.

Don't be selfish. Think of the greater good of society, if you intend to stay with the society you're familiar with.

You're right, if only the Anglo-Saxons had kept their Germanic rule on the English language without ever refining it. If only America had sat back and let the British tax them like crazy and if only Ben Franklin hadn't been such an imposing jackass, then we might not have these stupid things like freedom of speech or religion nowadays.

Yup, tradition's got to have monopoly! We can't allow things to change at all lest we brake society up, and when the inbred sub-human race looks back on where it all went wrong, we could say it was because of a simple word changed in the dictionary.

Wait, I'm confused. What have words got to do with this? Weren't the people of Babel scattered because they communicated too well and "God" scattered them and changed their languages?

Not if that's the current definition. But since now the definition includes couples of any races, I'm for interracial marriages.

So if we change the definition of marriage to include gay couples you will be alright with that when it does.

It seems like most everyone is outlining the same points. This guys just can't listen to reason. He's making everyone repeat themselves, and he is still not capable of understanding.
